Scaling Up or Down Scaling up: If you’d like to scale up your operations, replicate this set-up to build additional piles. Scaling down: If there isn’t enough volume for the full length of one of the perforated pipes, cut and cap the pipe. You need to cap it so that there is sufficient pressure to force the air through the pile. When you want to extend the pile with more material, you’ll need to uncap the pipe, add a pipe extension, and cap it again.
