Programme of recreational activities for children The two Quest groups carried out the following activities during January/February and July/August 2014: 

They put on approx. 40 free sessions of a variety of games and sporting activities (that’s 60 hours of activities). Each session benefitted approx. 25 to 30 children.

They took the mobile cinema project to 7 different communities and screened 8 films. Each screening attracted an avid audience of approx. 40 to 50 children.

They put on 9 Family Sunday shows – fun and entertainment for all the family, which were seen by approx. 100 to 500 people.

They organised 8 themes fairs – with lots of games, prizes and music – in 4 different communities. Each fair benefitted approx. 30 to 100 children.

They held 16 free swimming sessions in the municipal pool, benefitting approx. 30 to 60 children per session.

They organised an inter-community football and volley ball tournament, which brought 4 different communities together. Approx. 70 children took part.

Project ‘Mi Nueva Casa’ (My New House) The second Quest group carried out the following activities during July and August 2014: 

They built 4 new houses for 4 vulnerable families (thereby directly benefitting 15 people)

Each house costs approx. $825 USD and takes an average of 2 to 3 days to build and install.

We replace makeshift shacks with solid, warm and secure wooden houses – thereby transforming the lives of the beneficiary families.

We also received a grant from the Evan Cornish Foundation to build 7 more houses before Christmas. 

Keep up to date with the progress on these 7 houses here on Facebook.
