SEASON RECAP The Gaels rowing program had a series of strong performances at preliminary regattas through the OUA schedule. Their results were bolstered by very impressive individual performances at the provincial and national level.

The season began well as the Gaels men impressed at the Head of the Rideau with victories in the varsity heavyweight men's single, varsity lightweight men's double, varsity heavyweight men's double, varsity heavyweight men's four, varsity heavyweight men's eight, varsity lightweight men's four and varsity lightweight men's eight. The Gaels translated their strong preliminary performances into even more impressive finishes at the OUA Championship. At the Canadian University Rowing Championship, Matt Christie stole the show for the Gaels, capturing their lone gold medal for his performance in the lightweight men's single as he opened up a big lead off the start and held it down the stretch.
