Season Recap The 2009 Gaels enjoyed a very successful season that saw both the men’s and women’s teams finish in the Top-3 in four different events. At the Hamilton College Invitational in October, the men’s and women’s teams both captured first place in the team standings. The men’s team had four runners finish in the Top-6 while the women’s team swept positions two through eight. Queen’s hosted their invitational event to wrap up their preparations for the championship season with the men’s team claiming second and the women’s team claiming third. The championship season saw the Gaels perform very well at the OUA Championships in St. Catharines. Both squads finished third in the team standings with Matt Hulse (12th) and Patricia Roney (15th) as the top runners for the men’s and women’s teams respectively. Queen’s wrapped up the season by hosting the CIS Championships at Fort Henry Hill. Hulse was the top Gael, crossing the finish line in 17th. Earlier, Hulse was honoured with the 2009 Male StudentAthlete Community Service Award.
