As the public exam season draws to a close there is time for reflection with hopefully a considerable degree of satisfaction on a job well done. There is also much to look forward to over the final fortnight of term. Years 13 and 11 are quite rightly making the most of the chance to relax. Year 12s, having completed their AS exams are now back in school getting a taste of the A2 courses and also focusing on university applications including courses, destinations and writing personal statements. Enrichment Week will provide many opportunities to enhance curriculum vitae. I hope the weather will be kind for those undertaking their assessed DofE expeditions. Years 8 and 9 have already enjoyed their adventure challenges in the Wye Valley and South Wales respectively. As we approach the season of dinners achievements of the past year can be celebrated. We can also look forward to the next academic year with the appointment of Prefects and other positions of responsibility at all levels. The term is brought to an appropriate conclusion with Speech Day where prizes will be presented by Lloyd Figgins OQ followed by the Summer Ball in the evening which is a sell-out. Thank you to Tanya Casson and her committee who have worked so hard putting together what should be a memorable night.
