What will I study?

The BSc in Mathematics with Actuarial Science combines elements of a generalist undergraduate mathematics degree with specialist modules related to an actuarial career.

You will gain a solid grounding in mathematics together with more specialist knowledge of probability, statistics, financial mathematics and business economics.

You will follow dedicated Actuarial Professional Development modules throughout your degree, to help you to identify and develop crucial professional and business skills and knowledge, ready for your future career. This is highly relevant for those who go on to work across any actuarial and financial services professions.

What is the Professional Placement year?

You have the option to extend your degree to a four-year sandwich programme, including a one year paid Professional Placement (during your third year).

We will provide support and guidance to all students wishing to take this option and you will benefit from our industry links and extensive careers support activities to help identify a suitable placement.

What are we looking for?

Standard entry requirements • AAA-AAB at A Level, including grade A in A-level Mathematics • 36-34 points in the International Baccalaureate, including grade 6 in Higher Level Mathematics Other qualifications We also accept a wide range of qualifications such as Access and Foundation programmes, Irish Leaving Certificate, Scottish Highers and other Baccalaureates.

English language • GCSE grade C or 6 • IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.5 in all sections)
