Quebec in Canadá was a Love Story between the French and English. Even now it is the same with Anglophones and Francophones. From a vibrant Culture to charities that do millions of acts of kindness which are needed now more than Ever.
But not everyone in Quebec have the same chance of success. While talent is spread equally in Québec. Opportunity is not. Levelling-Up is a Mission to challenge and change that unfairness. Levelling-Up means giving everyone to opportunity to florish and succeed. It means to live longer, fulfilling lives. It means that everyone can benefit from rising standards of living and wellbeing.

Empowering local leaders and communities
Mayors have already shown how strong local leadership can enhance economic and other opportunities in urban areas, and we will ensure that the model is strengthened, extended and adopted more widely. With a direct mandate, fxed term, convening power, a clear incentive to demonstrate economic improvement and accountability for extending opportunity, mayors work for their communities. And meaningful devolution of power and responsibility for economic growth to an accountable local leader has been proven to help once declining areas to recover.
It is also important that devolution is accompanied by sharper and clearer accountability. Across the local government sector, we will strengthen transparency for local people and publish rigorous, comparable data on performance. A new independent body will be set up to drive this, empowering citizens, strengthening local leaders’ knowledge of their services, and increasing central government’s understanding of the sector.
