If we get it approved, then next year we will construct that, and the timing of that depends more on Planning and Zoning, but since relations with the town are in much better shape than they have been in the past, I’m more confident that will be approved...
W hat do you think of the c o m m u n i t y ’s r e s p o n s e t o t h e new logo and the new website? I think it was generally positive. Obviously, people were not happy with the lowercase ‘u,’ and we actually changed that in result of that. That is the area I heard most about, and I think in general it has...
W hy did you not attend the Wo m e n’ s R u g b y P e p R a l l y ? It wasn’t any intentional slight. It is tough. We have 21 sports, and I go to as many sporting events as my schedule allows, and I get criticized for going to a lot of basketball and hockey games, but that is because I am usually fundraising there. I think...

Quinnipiac’s Department of Athletics and Recreation announced a seven-year partnership with adidas that runs through the Bobcats’ 2023-24 season on Friday morning. “We’re excited to announce our partnership with adidas,” Quinnipiac Director of Athletics and Recreation Greg Amodio said in a press release. “adidas has a phenomenal reputation and a long history of providing an excellent product to college and professional teams. Our goal is to place our brand with the best in NCAA Athletics, and this is a step in that direction.” The announcement comes just three days after Quinnipiac men’s basketball head coach Baker Dunleavy held a jersey at his introductory press conference with a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) logo over its usual Nike swoosh on the right shoulder. Adidas, which is already the official apparel, footwear and uniform provider for over 100 collegiate programs and various professional leagues, will provide the Bobcats’ 21 varsity sports teams with apparel, footwear, uniforms and accessories, according to the release. Additionally, the university says adidas will be the official equipment provider of Quinnipiac baseball, men’s lacrosse and women’s lacrosse teams.
Sports Marketing at adidas America, said. “And that includes everything from providing the Bobcats sports teams with our most innovative apparel, footwear and equipment, to helping Quinnipiac Athletics with their overarching goals for campus climate, accountability, growth and sustainability.”

The Carl Hansen Student Center Piazza was full of students watching the debate for the executive board positions of the Student Government Association (SGA) on Monday April 3. With the election itself coming up on Wednesday April 5 on the DoYou QU website, the candidates were making sure to get their positions known to the students. The first round of debates was for the vice president for public relations position. The three candidates are sophomore Joe Iasso, sophomore Victoria Johnson and junior Ian Zetlin, who appeared via online video because he is studying abroad from Hamden this semester. Iasso’s position was based on emphasizing the connection between SGA and the student body. “For too long, SGA has been primarily focused on marketing itself to the student body: who we are and what we do,” he said. “Communication, on the other hand, is a two-way street, and the primary goal of this position should be hearing your concerns, and letting you know when SGA has successfully taken action to address your needs.” Along with mentioning communication, Johnson focused on transparency with how SGA runs, informing the audience about how SGA meetings allow a time for non-SGA members to speak and building a relationship with business in Hamden. “Whether it will be through a discount program or expanding the use of QCash with local businesses, I know how to make this relationship work for us, ” she said. Zeitlin agrees with both his opponents that SGA needs to be less self-centered, but his interpretation involves, along with creating more positions, being able to expand SGA resources to other groups at Quinnipiac. “I want to provide public relations tools from us to different organizations. Whether that’s tablets for the involvement fair or different other flyers or different seminars to bring more people to your events, I think this should be the role of our public relations vice president,” he said. The second round of debates, for Vice President for Finance, consisted of junior Thierno Diallo and freshman Ryan Hicks. Diallo claimed that anyone could handle money, but he wanted to emphasize what made him unique. “I want to be a candidate that can act as a liaison and voice the issues of students and organizations On campus, and find solutions for organizations all around that are struggling due to budget cuts,” he said. Hicks used his time to explain to the audience why the position of vice president for finance matters, using audience participation to make his point asking them to raise their hand if they’ve participated in a charity event, concert, or even a club meeting with food. “For those of you who raised your hand to any one of those questions, you realize that this position effects you day in and day out,” he said. There were two uncontested positions with Tatyana Youssef for vice president for student
