Ron Lum is a Senior Account Manager in the Surface Finishing group, having joined the organization as part of the Coral Chemical acquisition. He has spent over 30 years working in the finishing industry.
Recognized with the 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award from CCAI for his service, contribution to the finishing industry through education, and going above and beyond for the members and industry as a whole
Ron graduated from California State University Fresno with a degree in Industrial Engineering and started his career as a manufacturing engineer and progressed to management for one of the largest powder coating lines on the west coast. He then shifted his career to sales for powder coatings prior to joining Coral Chemical.
CCAI acknowledges that their west coast presence came as a result of his efforts to launch three chapters Southern California, Las Vegas, & Salt Lake City
Ron has been involved with the Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI) since 2010 and has held multiple leadership positions within regional chapters, the National Board, and Foundation.
Enjoys spending time with family and friends, collecting watches, watching movies & listening to great music
Resides in southern California and is married with two sons. His oldest son recently started working in the powder coating industry!
Learn More about Ron Ron dedicates time to the finishing industry where has been active in CCAI to promote industry forums, networking, and talent development. He has been instrumental in the charter of three chapters across the western United States and leads a large industry Toys for Tots initiative each December. His leadership roles have included:

What principles have guided your career? Always to keep things in perspective and stay grounded. I’m drawn to the philosophy of Lokai, a company that sell an inexpensive bracelet that has clear beads, one black, and one white. The black has mud from the Dead Sea and the white has water from Mt. Everest. Their mantra is “when you are at your lowest (black bead), be hopeful; when you’re at your highest (white bead), be humble”. It is a mantra that I try to live by, What influences your leadership approach? Focus, patience, and open-mindedness. I credit my success to the great mentors and friends that I have met in the finishing industry.
