CONTRACTS FALL 2018 Materials The required materials for the course are the course material packet and statutory supplement, available electronically, and through the KU Bookstore. If you wish to purchase a commercially prepared set of statutory materials, I recommend ALLAN FARNSWORTH ET AL., SELECTIONS FOR CONTRACTS (Foundation Press 2017) or earlier editions. Class Meeting Times and Office Hours Our course meets on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings starting at 8:10am and running until 9:05am; and has a bonus hour meeting on Tuesdays starting at 10:20am and running until 11:15am. All class meetings are in Room 104. Additionally, I have placed make-up classes in the schedule. The make-up times are those permitted under school procedures and are mandatory unless otherwise indicated. All make-up classes will be held in Room 104 unless otherwise indicated. Like many instructors at the law school, I have an open-door policy. You may visit whenever I am in my office. I hold formal office hours on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9:30am until 12:00pm, or by appointment via email. The problems following any assigned cases are included within that day’s assignment. I also occasionally will add readings or questions for your consideration via email or on the course Blackboard page. I will indicate in class or via email when doing so. Evaluation The course will conclude with a three-hour examination. You may take the exam on your laptop computer if you do so with the exam software supported by the law school. The exam questions may be drawn from any assigned reading or classroom discussion during the semester. 10 percent of the final grade will be based on class participation. Strong class participation includes in-class responses that demonstrate engagement with the readings and an ability to analyze questions in connection with the materials covered throughout the course. Students also show strong class participation by voluntarily contributing to class discussion regularly throughout the semester. To ensure fair evaluation, I will
