After many months of planning and with the backing and commitment to Grassroots Rugby League by Easts Tigers and PEET Flagstone, the Flagstone Tigers saw a year of continuous growth which has been founded by nothing other than a determination to be a club for families. This growth has also only been possible by our wonderful sponsors who share our values and continue to strive for a vibrant Flagstone.
The strength of the club began with the culmi nation of five teams from the Under 6 to Under 9 age groups representing the club. Along with this, we had a huge number of children engage in a Development Program that enhances Rugby League skills and engages the children in a com munity-based program, with an aim to occupy young minds in disciplined training sessions. The players within our junior squads played their hearts out each and every week and we look for ward to expanding these teams and continuing to develop young leaders for our community.
We finished our year with a sensational Presen tation Day, sponsored by PEET Flagstone. This event had our players and community enjoy a day of fun, rides, food, a screening of the NRL Grand Final and our first presentation that saw the foundation of our Club Person of the Year Award. This year, the award was presented to two individuals who have helped to develop our club from an idea, to a full field home base with clubhouse and facilities. We congratulate Nikkea Channell and Nathan Osborne on being the 2021 PEET Club Person of the Year.
Our vision remains strong and with that vision comes the responsibility of community members to step forward and carry that commitment. On October 13, the club held it’s Annual Gener al Meeting that saw a total of 18 members of our Tiger family elected to the committee. The committee’s sole responsibility is to ensure the safety, wellbeing and viability of our players, families and club for now and in the future. We also would like to thank those who are moving on from their roles and wish them all the best for future. Your contribution has been excellent and so important in establishing our values.

Many people start out their business journey as a sole trader. This isn’t always the best structure depending on your business goals. Over the next few editions, I will go through each business entity and the pros and cons.
Any profit you make is taxed at your individual tax rate.
This means if you have other income, the profit from your business is added to the other income and taxed at your marginal rate plus medicare levy.
Any liability you have is your responsibility. If you are sued then all you assets are at risk as they are part of your personal asset pool.
Any losses the business makes, needs to meet the loss rules before you can claim the loss against your personal income. Ie wages.
The cost to set up as a sole trader is low if you are setting up your ABN yourself
Do you need to registered for GST? The threshold is $75,000 for a 12 month period.
Will you be hiring employees or intend to in the future?
Is the intention of your business to eventually grow and hire staff or just to keep you busy while the children are young?
Do you have any assets, your home, investment properties or investments?
What are the start up costs and if you are buying any significant assets?
Your budget for the business.

The market is shifting, and its upwards for Brisbane! With the announcement of the 2032 Olympic games, prices have started to rise in accordance. This increase in demand has stretched all throughout the Greater Brisbane area and outer suburbs, new developing areas like Park Ridge and Greenbank are in demand.
One first home buyer who has taken advantage of this booming market is Emily-Brooke LeBoydre, she is a young lady in her twenties, and on a mission to purchase her first home. She contacted Belluccio Property last year when the Federal Government announced the Home Builder Grant of $25,000. At the time, she was sceptical and nervous to say the least. Inner City living is her style, but where in Brisbane can you buy a 4 bed, 2 bathroom, 2 car garage on your own block of land for $410,000?
By contacting the team, she was educated on the area, advised on the pro’s & the cons of buying in Logan City Council. A lot of people think to buy in Brisbane City Council, without seeing the potential of what Logan has to offer.
Haroon Sufi who directs BPG & has been in Park Ridge since the launch of the first residential housing estate in 2015 & has seen the potential the area has to offer, “Coming from Melbourne and seeing outer suburbs grow, I saw Park Ridge as the growth corridor of Logan & Brisbane.” Fast forward 6 years later, the area is growing day by day. “We are welcoming new developers & new home owners looking to get their first home”.
Emily was lucky, she took advantage of the grants offered, purchased when the demand wasn’t there compared to how it is now and with the cost of materials increasing, had Emily not acted when she did, Emily would be paying over $500,000 for the same house & land package.
“Entering the property market as a single young woman at first was daunting. Belluccio Property Group made me feel comfortable and confident with my decision to purchase my first home in Park Ridge and we have already seen the value of the land skyrocket.”
If you are currently renting a property, saving for a deposit, not sure on the process of home ownership, then do not hesitate to contact the team at Belluccio Property Group on 07 3128 0887 or email your enquiry to info@ belluccioproperty.com

This delicious ground turkey stuffed capsicum recipe is a healthy alternative to the traditional one. This is a gluten-free stuffed recipe. It’s truly one of my favourite ground turkey recipes!
I love this recipe because it’s no-fuss and always a hit with my family. I made these ground turkey stuffed capsicum in a cast iron skillet, but honestly, you can put them any old sort of pan that works for you.
I’ve got to admit that I love how they look coming out of the oven in that pretty cast-iron skillet, though!
6 large capsicum | 2 cups wild rice, cooked 400g ground turkey | 2 cloved garlic, minced
1 small onion, diced | 1 can crushed tomatoes
1 tsp Italian seasoning | 1 tsp salt | ½ tsp pepper
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare your rice and set aside. You will need two cups of cooked rice.
2. Cut off the tops of the peppers remove the seeds, trim the bottoms to help them sit flat in the skillet and rinse thoroughly. In a large pan boil the peppers for 5 minutes, remove from water and turn upside down onto a paper towel to dry.
3. In a large skillet add the olive oil, garlic and onion, sauté until tender. Add the turkey and brown until thoroughly cooked.
4. Add the crushed tomatoes, rice, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper and 1/2 cup of the shredded cheese and stir until blended.
5. Fill the peppers evenly with the mixture, place in a lightly greased 10-inch cast iron skillet or baking dish of your choice. Bake uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove and add the remaining cheese to the top of peppers and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
