WEEK 9 READING: TITLE OF READING

Question 1: What are Durer’s rules for perspectival projection? (Maximum 100 words) Durer describe perspective as seeing through, is a view of space not when mere isolate object and are represented in foreshortening. Durer’s first rule is that perpendiculars or “orthogonals” meet at the so-called central vanishing point, which is determined by the perpendicular drawn from the eye to the picture plane. Second rule is that all parallels, in whatever direction they lie, have a common vanishing point. Finally, is that equal dimensions diminish progressively as they recede in space, its portion of the picture is calculable from the preceding or following portion.

Question 2: Describe homogenous space? (Maximum 100 words)

Homogenous space is an infinite space, a geometric space is that all its elements, the points are joined in it, are mere determination of position, possessing no independent content of their own outside of this relation. It is purely functional and not a substantial reality, produced by construction and indeed the geometrical concept of homogeneity can be expressed by the postulate that from every point in space it must be possible to draw similar figures in all directions and magnitudes. There is no strict homogeneity of position and direction, each place has its own mode and value.

OLD QUAD ISOMETRIC WITH NOTATIONS

Because my story is about a world for the dead people, but they have maintain a same life after their death. To show that they coming from the life world. I added stairs to show a upper layer where they came from and entrance the dead world. This is also the entrance for Macrcopoloe. And because at the the end of my story, their is a twin city that is also full with the dead so at the end of Marcropoloe’s route, he will be entrencing to another space. Marcropoloe have world around the columne that is the central of the Quad is where main entertainment activities started that would attract Marcropoloe to take a closer look.

QUAD PERSPECTIVE 1 + 2 This scene will be good for me to show the transaction from the living world to the dead world. It have a large open space to the outside world that allowed me to developed the staires. As this stair will be the represtion as the birdge between the living and the dead. Also under this quad, I have added an offseted quad to represent the twin towner/city, that are very similar and even closely related to Eusapia. This is also the entrance point, to showing the starting of the story.

This is my second scene, it is the center of the Quad. The center of the Quad have a wider view to see, what the people is doing inside the space, to show their life once they are in the space. This scene could be seen as the main Hall, that people are able to interact and communicate to showing even though people were dead but they were still living like life people not in the real world, but the underground world. To show where Marcropoloe may take apart in the story.

PERSPECTIVE SCENE 1 + 2 This is to show the starting point of my story, where live people was dead and gonging into the dead world. To show this I have used a old man character with different transparence to show the change from life to dead and became a soul and lived agin in the underground world. Since the story is about dead people. charcater I have used are all transparect as they are souls, light and objects can straight see through from theme. The only man that in the story is alive is the man in front of the old men, he is a part of the hooded brother, that is the only live people can go into this space. In this my story he was roleding the dead world and recoding the people coming into it. To empahsize the idea of death I have used skeletons and a man holding a skeletons and praying showing a sense of fear, and horriable of the death and also the idea of the new space that is a dead city, in which the whole space was in a darker tone.

My second perspective have a strong contrast with my first perspecvtive. This is used to show how the dead people matain their life when they were alived. To shows this, I used a more lighter tone as it was not much depression compare to the first perspective of the unknonw. Also, in my stories, they have been talked about people were dancing or siting around the table. The dancing mood could be seen in this perspective as I used the center hall as to show a sences of belonging to the dead world and a sences of joy, to show the dead still have the human emotions, making them more like alived human. This room is more degreated compare to perspecitve one, to suit for the scene of live abd how the live people wanted the dead people rest in peace.

WEEK 10 READING: TITLE OF READING Complete your reading before attempting these questions:

Question 1: What is the difference between autographic and allographic practice? (Maximum 100 words) Philosopher Nelson Goodman calls autographic those arts, like painting and sculpture, that depend for their authenticity upon the direct contract of the author. He calls allographic work exists in many copies and can be produced without the direct intervention of the author, for instance, music, poetry and theatre. They are those capable of being reproduced at a distance from the author by means of notion. Allographic depends upon notional practices as a consequence of ephemerality of the work itself such as poetry and music, or the need to coordinate an intricate collaborative structure like dance, or symphonic music.

Question 2: Why do architects need new representational techniques? (Maximum 100 words) Traditional representations presume stable objects and fixed subjects. Today’s city is much more complex with visible and inviable streams of information, capital and subjects. All cities are connected and formed a dispersed field, a vast network, which images, data and money flow freely. In order to describe this complexity architects, need representational technique that engage time and change, shifting scale, mobile points of view, and multiple programs. New notations in architecture representation is a simple substitution of one way of working for another, which enlarge the catalogue of techniques available to the architect working in the city.

FINAL DRAWINGS For next time I will various between the line weight a bit more, or even using colouring to show the difference and making the movement stand out more making it more readable. Or even using light shading to better illustrate the idea of light and dark to make the notation more clearly.
