The Shops at Valley Square The goal was to create a lifestyle shopping center that evoked the feeling of a traditional, small town main street.

PZS created a small town square featuring gathering areas, restaurants with outdoor seating, green space for concerts and community events.

To distinguish each building, the proportions and rhythms of fenestration have been slightly altered. Each building has a distinct footprint, massing, height, profile, shape and plan to provide a comfortable human scale.

Using a shared vocabulary of materials, each retailer has an individual identity, yet the center as a whole exhibits a feeling of continuity and cohesion.

BAKERS CENTRE RETAIL

Philadelphia, PA

PZS Architects recently completed the Bakers Centre retail complex in Philadelphia’s Hunting Park West neighborhood. Bakers Centre is an integral component of the Philadelphia City Planning Commission’s program for the Revitalization of Hunting Park West. The center consists of approximately 220,000 square feet of retail, office, educational and institutional spaces. Bakers Centre is centrally located at the site of the former headquarters of the Tastykake Baking Company with excellent access to I-76, Rte. 1 & Rte. 13.

SHOPRITE SUPERMARKET anchors the complex with 70,000 SF. The grocery store features 6 different concept vendors, allowing the guests to choose from a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, to seafood and even Chickie’s and Pete’s and Krispie Kreme! All of the areas were designed to have their own inviting identity and back of house space. The commercial kitchen includes rotisserie chicken, grill, bakery and salt water fish tank.

MONTGOMERYVILLE SHOPPING CENTER Montgomeryville, PA PZS Architects designed this 120,000 SF retail facility incorporating three individual buildings, and multiple tenant fitouts.

SPRINGHOUSE SHOPPING CENTER Lower Gwynedd, PA

The design of a 75,000 SF center with the lead tenant being a 55,000 SF supermarket.

PZS Architects is currently working on the design of a mixeduse development in Downtown Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.

The The project includes the development of a mixed use complex located at the intersection of Fayette and Elm Streets in Conshohocken, PA.

The complex will include a new 250-room hotel, two new high rise office buildings with ground floor retail space, the renovation and conversion of a historic firehouse and a combination of structured parking facilities for cars organized around a public square/ gathering space.
