FEATURES & BENEFITS Control module provides continuous interface to the truck operator confirming if the area is safe and system is ok All arcing, sparking and hot components are risk assessed and fitted with restricted breathing enclosures to restrict the ingress of any flammable gas/vapour Temperature monitoring of hot surfaces to T3 200degC or T4 135degC (including brakes & hydraulic fluid) Diesel conversions feature inlet air shutdown valve for automatic engine overspeed and manual shutdown Water cooled exhaust manifold and gas cooler limits surface and exhaust temperatures to the specified temperature class for diesel engines

GAS DETECTION Your materials handling equipment with be fitted with a state of the art gas sensing head to allow it to detect gas when your truck is in operation.

There are two different gas sensing heads, Pellistor and Infrared, and the suitable head will be fitted depending on your application and potential gas risks. Heads are certified for use with gas groups IIA or IIB

PELLISTOR Pellistor gas sensing heads respond to 95% of all flammable gases and vapours, making it suited to the most diverse range of flammable materials.

It is recommended for sites where many different materials are used such as the paints, coatings, pharmaceuticals and chemical industries.

The pellistor head is susceptible to silicon poisoning, which is where the head is coated in silicon and ceases to function correctly. If silicones may be present in the atmosphere we recommend the use of Infrared, which is the latest in gas sensing technology and cannot be contaminated by silicones.

INFRARED Infrared gas sensing technology is ideally suited to applications where a specific or limited range of flammable gases or vapours are present, as it does not respond accurately to all flammable materials.

It is recommended for sites where specific materials are used or stored such as aerosols, distilleries, cosmetics and oil and gas.

Unlike Pellistor based systems, it does not suffer from silicon poisoning, making it ideal for applications where silicones are present. It also offers faster start-up times, lower maintenance costs and in many applications quicker gas and vapour response times.

HOW IT’S USED > START-UP

START-UP A system6000 protected truck cannot begin its daily operation without system6000 being enabled.

The daily start-up process is automatic and is activated by the touch of a GREEN or BLUE key (diesel – blue, electric – green). It takes between 30 and 120 seconds depending on the gas sensing technology applied.

OPERATION After the start-up procedure is complete, the truck operates as normal with the driver and equipment protected under the “umbrella” of system6000 explosion protection.

HOW IT’S USED > SHUTDOWN

SHUTDOWN If gas/vapour is detected at 10% LEL the driver gets visual/audible warnings and should drive away from the area warning any colleagues of the imminent danger.

If gas/vapour levels rise to 25% LEL the truck will automatically be brought to a controlled stop preventing any explosions and protecting the driver and site.

HOW IT’S USED > RESTART

RESTART Once the truck has shutdown, it cannot be re-started without the permission of the “Person in Authority” e.g. Site Manager, Safety Manager, Works Engineer.

When they consider it is safe to resume operations they can apply the system6000 RED key. The system will check the area is gas free before an automatic gas test allows truck to restart.

We also offer a range of training and maintenance courses designed to help works and maintenance engineers, field service engineers and service managers maintain Pyroban equipment in the field.
