Once one of England’s grandest party houses, English Heritage’s Witley Court is now a romantic ruin thanks to a devastating fire in 1937. METHOD 1 Mix the coarse ground black pepper, sea salt and light brown sugar together in a bowl.

1 Split the mix into three portions and add the apple cider to one and the beetroot and horseradish to another.

2 Lay three pieces of cling film on a clean work surface and sprinkle/spread half of one mixture into the centre. Leaving

Terrain: The walk is largely flat with a few insignificant climbs. There is some necessary lane walking, including the busy ‘Trench Lane’. Strong shoes or boots are recommended. Poles can be useful but most paths well maintained. Wheelchair users can explore Alcester and its excellent museum. Large-wheeled pushchairs may manage a walk around Alcester and to Oversley Green and back.

History: Alcester is rich in Roman history with many local finds on display in the Heritage Centre. This market town with its Church and Town Hall has some beautiful examples of timber-framed buildings, with the picturesque ‘Malt Mill Lane’ being the jewel in the crown.

The concert will be performed by the world-renowned Morriston Orpheus Male Choir from Swansea and are one of the best male choirs in the world, who have performed on most of the major concert venues throughout the world. The concert is being held in celebration of the life of Paul Fletcher who died in December 2010 aged just 34 and this year would have been his 40th birthday.

All proceeds from the concert will be given to St Richard’s Hospice in Worcester, who cared for Paul so well in his latter weeks.
