1954 TOPPS HANK AARON ROOKIE #128 PSA 9 MINT

Looking as if it came off the production line yesterday, this Hank Aaron rookie is the finest we have ever seen.

Hank Aaron’s cardboard debut ranks among the most recognized baseball cards from the era. In only their third year of production, Topps redesigned this issue to feature bright colors with a centralized image and a smaller likeness of the player in action. Hank Aaron anchors the set with Mickey Mantle’s absence due to contractual licensing rights. Encased in a PSA 9 holder, only twenty-five of this card exist at this level and only two graded higher. Looking as if it came off the production line yesterday, this Hank Aaron rookie is the finest we have ever seen. The surfaces are unimprovable, lacking typical excess print and toning. The color scheme and design have held up perfectly. Furthermore, the centering is 50-50 and the delicate reverse edges lack significant wear.

A near undetectable touch to the extreme upper left corner tip is likely all that caused PSA to flinch on awarding the ‘10’ grade. As period rookie cards of pantheon players continue to set new records, investment minded individuals will not want to miss this incredible offering. In 1951, Henry Louis Aaron signed a contract to play for the Indianapolis

Clowns of the Negro American League. The Howe Sports Bureau credits Aaron with a .366 batting average in 26 official Negro league games, with five home runs and 33 RBI. Due to his impressive play, the Boston Braves purchased Aaron’s contract from the Clowns for $10,000. Over the course of the next few years, Aaron shuffled between the franchise’s farm teams until on March 13, 1954 Milwaukee Braves left fielder Bobby Thompson fractured his ankle while sliding into second base during a spring training game. This led Aaron to a major league contract where eventually he would take his first step in breaking Babe Ruth’s all-time Home Run record by belting one out of the park on April 23, 1954. Throughout his incredible 23 seasons played in the MLB, Aaron would endure constant racial threats, much like his favorite player as a child, Jackie Robinson. Despite the extreme racism Aaron endured, he managed 755 home runs, 3,771 hits and 2,297 RBI throughout his spectacular career. Widely considered among the Holy Grails in the industry, we recommend this card with our highest level of enthusiasm.

A lone factory surface indent near the bottom edge of the card is all that accounts for the lone ‘9’ sub grade. Since the NBA held its first event on November 1, 1946, many sports analysts argue that LeBron is the best player to have ever played the game. LeBron may win yet another title this year. In the 1998-99 season, Michael Jordan played his final season with the Chicago Bulls. This stunning card pays tribute to Jordan by featuring a wicked self-numbered 21/23 signature and a red jersey patch from a 1992-93 NBA game--the same year Jordan captured his third-straight NBA title. 2003 EXQUISITE COLLECTION LIMITED LOGOS KOBE BRYANT PATCH AUTO /75 BGS 9 MINT

In 2003, nothing could have been paired more perfectly for the trading card market as Kobe Bryant had established himself as Michael Jordan’s heir apparent, having won three NBA titles and becoming the face of the NBA. The introduction of one of the best rookie classes of all-time coincided with that year as did the release of a revolutionary premium product in Upper Deck Exquisite. At the time, Upper Deck had an exclusive deal with Kobe Bryant, which produced a card for the ages--the ’03 Exquisite Limited Logos insert.

Presented in a Beckett 9 holder, this 61/75 example possesses two extremely powerful attributes, which instantly capture the hearts of those who collect the Black Mamba.
