Article 15 – School Advisory Council A. The purpose of the School Advisory Council will be to offer input and recommendations to the Principal or his/her designee on internal matters affecting the school, to participate as the faculty/staff representatives in the preparation and evaluation of the School Improvement Plan, and to function as appropriate and necessary within the guidelines established by the School Board and Florida Statutes 1001.452. B. Pending grievances will not be discussed and no decision of the School Advisory Council will be subject to the grievance procedure. No School Improvement Plan shall address the issues of wages, hours, terms and other conditions of employment. No School Improvement Plan may alter, modify or violate this agreement except as mutually agreed in writing by the district and the union (see waiver procedure, paragraph E). C. Ad hoc committees may be established by the Council and recommendations regarding any phase of the total school program may be presented by the ad hoc committee(s) to the Council for consideration. D. The School Advisory Councils will minimally consist of the following listed members on the Council: 1. One (1) Union Building Representative at each school site. 2. Teachers (elected by the School Faculty) a. minimum of four (4) representatives for staff numbering up to seventy-­‐nine (79) b. minimum of six (6) representatives for faculties numbering over eighty (80). 3. Support Associate (elected by site-­‐based support associates) a. minimum of two (2) representatives for staff numbering up to seventy-­‐nine (79). b. minimum of three (3) representatives for staff numbering over eighty (80).
