Yes, we do have visitors who, upon stepping off the plane, expect to spot a few cowboys on horseback. Head west from DFW International Airport and you might see just that, but you’ll also find a dynamic downtown and worldclass cultural offerings co-existing beautifully with Fort Worth’s authentic Western heritage. Others keep waiting for Miss Ellie and J.R. How odd that the cities of North Texas would join hands to take flight together over an airport. The opening of Dallas/Fort Worth International in 1974 placed North Texas within a four-hour plane ride of every U.S.

he National Football League will produce the 19th NFL Experience at the Dallas Convention Center, beginning January 27, 2011. The NFL Experience is the most exciting continuous event surrounding Super Bowl XLV — pro football’s interactive theme park offering participatory games, displays, entertainment attractions, kids’ football clinics, free autograph sessions and the largest football card show ever. The NFL Experience ticket includes all games and attractions. $25 for adults and $20 for children under 12. Tickets are available by calling (866) TIX-4NFL (849-4635) or visiting Ticketmaster. Proceeds from the ticket sales to the NFL Experience will be donated by the NFL to the NFL Youth Education Town in Arlington. Youth Education Towns (NFL YET) are multi-faceted educational and recreation facilities designed to improve the academic and physical fitness, as well as, job-related skills, of at-risk youth. Established in 1993, the YET initiative is the living legacy created by the NFL for Super Bowl host cities.

he Super Bowl is a world-class event that demands a world-class venue. The Dallas Cowboys began a new chapter in their legendary history with the opening of Cowboys Stadium in 2009, a state-of-the-art, Super Bowl-ready facility. Cowboys Stadium has several unique features that make it one of the most distinguishable stadiums in the world: retractable roof – Cowboys Stadium has a retractable roof, guaranteeing weather won’t be an issue on game day. The retractable roof is the world’s largest at 660,800 square feet, yet takes a mere 12 minutes to open. The open roof design was carried over from Texas Stadium in Irving.
Video Boards – Cowboys Stadium contains several video boards, the most unique
being the four-board cluster that is suspended 90 feet directly over the center of the playing surface. The board, a high-definition 1080p screen, runs from the 20-yard line to the 20-yard line, measuring 160 feet in length and 70 feet in height – making it the largest video board installation in the world.
Arches – Cowboys Stadium is supported by two 35-foot deep and 15-foot wide
boxed arch trusses. Each truss spans 1,290 feet, nearly a quarter mile, making the roof the longest clear-span structure in the world. The arches rise to 292 feet and measure more than twice the length of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis.

visitor information A special transit pass will be offered and will include super Bowl sunday service to the game. The Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) provides reliable transportation to locations throughout the Dallas area including the Dallas Convention Center, hotels, and destinations that feature shopping, restaurants, and attractions. Three light rail lines serve downtown Dallas and the Dallas area and the Trinity Railway Express (TRE), a joint effort with The T, provides commuter rail to and from Fort Worth. The Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T) provides over 40 routes by bus transit. The T provides dependable transportation to locations throughout the Fort Worth area including the Fort Worth Convention Center, hotels and destinations such as the Museum District and Historic Fort Worth Stockyards. The Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) offers transit services in the Greater Lewisville and Denton area. The Cavanaugh Flight Museum sets apart from most other aviation museums with the quality of the aircraft collection and the airworthy condition of nearly all of the aircraft on display. Many museum aircraft continue to fly on a regular basis. On any given day, visitors may see aircraft active on the museum’s ramp. The museum’s maintenance facility allows visitors to look beneath the skin of such famous aircraft as the Sopwith Camel, the P-51 Mustang, or the German Me-109 and to talk with the mechanics who keep these warbirds flying. This is a rare opportunity not found at other aviation museums. In addition, the museum has other facilities for visitors to enjoy: an outdoor picnic area, an air conditioned canteen, a large aviation art gallery and a large gift shop.

• Volunteers should never ask for an autograph or impose on a guest with a personal request while on duty. (i.e. photographs, business contacts, souvenirs, etc.)
• No travel, food or lodging accommodations will be provided to volunteers. • No game tickets will be made available to volunteers. • No volunteer opportunities are available inside Cowboys Stadium.
• No family members or friends are allowed to accompany volunteers while they are on duty, unless they are scheduled to work at the same time.
• All volunteers must agree to a background check as required by the NFL.
• If an illness or emergency prohibits volunteers from making their volunteer assignment, they should contact their assigned Volunteer Captain.
• Volunteers should not consume alcoholic beverages while wearing the official volunteer uniform.
• Volunteer opportunities will be provided on an equal basis without regard to race, color, sex, national origin, age or disability.
* Failure to comply with the above Policies and Procedures may result in termination of volunteer opportunities. Volunteer Captains and North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee staff have the right to remove a volunteer from their position and ask him/her not to return.
