I

n the last 2 years, The Smith Foundation, Inc. gave $108,000 in Scholarships, Thousands of dollars in School Supplies & Food and Provided Toys for over 500 children.

My Dad and I have been recognized for various awards because of our community involvement. I was awarded “Woman of the Year” by PBMA, in which I received recognition from United States Congresswomen Sheila Jackson Lee and Sylvia Garcia, Mayor of the City of Houston Sylvester Turner and Houston City Council At-Large, Position 4 Amanda K. Edwards. I was awarded a Proclamation declaring an official day to be named after me; the “Myasha “Mya” Smith-Edmonds Day” by the Mayor of the City of Houston Sylvester Turner. I was the recipient of the Galore “Distinction Award”, the recipient of the “Opulence Award”, Faith Award, featured in the magazine for being awarded as one of the Top 30 Influential Women of Houston and featured in Indy Metro Magazine. Selected to Co-Author in the book “Lessons from COVID 19 2020 26 Stories One Pandemic”;to share about the Impacts on Business and The Smith Foundation, Inc.” Such an Honor.

Harry Smith has been recognized by the U.S. House of Representatives with a “Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award” from Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. He was also recognized by The State of Texas House of Representatives with a “Community Service Award” from State Representative Ron Reynolds. He has received The Humanitarian Award as well. Mya Smith-Edmonds

Mya Smith-Edmonds & Dad Mr. Smith HUMBLE BEGININNINGS Please tell us where you were born and raised? HOUSTON, TEXAS Tell us What was your family childhood like and memorable moments?

We were a small family dad, mom, younger brother, and me. From the age of 6 years old... I was in the first grade. At that age, I already knew

multiplication, because math and spelling were my passion. I loved school. My grandfather would always call me into the front room or outside with his friends; to call out multiplication problems and let me answer them quickly. Also, when I went to stores; I loved to calculate out the amount of change due back before the cashier typed it into the register.

and spelling Bee’s in elementary and middle school. Also, I loved dressing up/fashion and changing clothes throughout the day. I would do fashion shows for my parents and grandparents, trying on clothes and modeling them. Also, I have won several trophies in pageants as a young girl.

Tell us your most inspiring childhood experience?

My Dad becoming a McDonald’s Owner! It was one thing, to be EXCITED about going to McDonald’s to Play or get a Happy Meal; but it is a complete SHIFT in Impact for the Black Community and Mindset... to see someone that looked like you, OWN McDonald’s... AND IT’S YOUR DAD!!! To a child, that is like the chance of seeing a pig fly... that just does not happen.

INSPIRATION ON STEROIDS! What did you want to be when you grew up?

Just like my Dad!! I wanted to be a successful McDonald’s owner and help a lot of people, to have a better life. I always hoped to change the world; and do anything I could to make it better.

What were your hobbies/creativity as a teen?

Church activities, vacation bible study, Honors Society, tutoring students, cheerleading, track, basketball, volleyball, majorettes, hair styling, modeling, dance competitions, making homecoming mums & scrapbooks and so much more.

Anything else you like to share about childhood/teenage years?

I have always been FOCUSED & Driven. My Dad ALWAYS told me “STAY FOCUSED”! My parents, grandparents, aunts & uncles always believed in me. They taught me that I could DO anything and BE anything! I just had to Keep God first and do the work!

Mya Smith-Edmonds, a native of Houston, Texas, is the first female African American next generation McDonald’s owner/operator, owning seven McDonald’s restaurants in central Indiana. She serves as a board member for the Greater Indiana Operators, President & Secretary of the Central Indiana Black McDonald’s Operators Association and has earned the Trailblazer Award for the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO Indianapolis), was a

She went on to become a Certified Public Accountant at Deloitte & Touche, one of the largest accounting firms in the world.

During her required 2-5year program, which she completed with highest honors on every level, she became a General Manager and was awarded the Ray Kroc Award, an achievement earned by the top 1% performers in the McDonald’s system. During her career development years, Smith-Edmonds earned various awards as a Program Director with KCOH Radio Station and numerous more as an Independent Business Owner with Ameriplan USA. Committed to helping others build their businesses utilizing biblical principles, SmithEdmonds was awarded the honor of becoming the youngest National Sales Director and earned the privilege of speaking on several panels during the yearly Ameriplan National Conventions. Open Discussion 1.What does finding your purpose in entrepreneurship mean to you?

To Do What You Love, and Just Happen to Get Paid to Do It. When you are passionate and obsessed by something; there is no timeline for how long you will work or focus.

This is when you get into a different level of mastery and genius in your craft or business. The rewards and potential become limitless Always Remember: No one has to Believe in YOU or Your Dreams/Vision, EXCEPT YOU... Because God Put it INSIDE OF YOU, GAVE IT TO YOU, No one else...

Therefore, all you need is GOD & YOU to make it HAPPEN... because IT WILL... Happen... if “YOU” BELIEVE IT! Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

2.Why is it important for women to begin some type of entrepreneurship journey in their lives?

God has placed the Wisdom, Ability and Potential Desire of being an Entrepreneur in Women, as he expresses in Proverbs 31.

Entrepreneurship provides a platform for Creativity, Freestyle, Freedom and Purpose.

3.What is the meaning of purpose in your words?

Knowing to SAY WHAT YOU MEAN and MEAN WHAT YOU SAY... because of 3 things. A) What You SPEAK, YOU GIVE LIFE TO.YOU CREATE YOUR WORLD WITH YOUR WORDS B) You are and represent what you SAY - You are your Own Brand. My Mom for the Spiritual Introduction of God & the teaching for me, when I was a child; that I LIVE BY TODAY. 8. The TONGUE has the POWER of LIFE and DEATH, and those who LOVE it will EAT “IT’S” Fruit. We have the POWER to Speak “Out Loud”, the LIFE & WORLD that we Desire... We will Eat the Fruit of WHATEVER WE SPEAK OUT... We Give LIFE to what we speak... so we must ask ourselves... “What Do We Desire? What Fruit Do We Want? Have What We’ve Been SPEAKING, been the SAME as what we DESIRE”

Giving my Dreams, Goals and Vision 1,000% Work; Day in and Day Out; and Things not happening as Fast as I would have liked. But I learned so much along the way. This has taught me to FOCUS ON KNOWING WHERE I AM, WHEN I’M THERE - So that I can learn and gain what I need in EACH SEASON, SO THAT I’M PREPARED & EQUIPPED FOR WHERE I’M GOING. There is No Shortcut to Success; and Every Level Possesses Lessons to Learn. EVERY STEP IS NEEDED. So, OPERATE IN EXCELLENCE AND MASTER EVERY LEVEL, so that I can ACHIEVE SUSTAINED GROWTH & SUCCESS; as I move Higher and Higher in Life! The JOURNEY is MORE IMPORTANT TO MASTER, than the Perceived DESTINATION...

My Near Future Business Goals are to purchase more McDonald’s locations.

I have already started Real Estate Developing. So, I plan to grow that business, in purchasing more land, building, and selling properties. I look forward to making more lucrative business investments, so that I can ADD, by MULTIPLYING! Numbers are my thing.

2. How will you accomplish them?

By following the rules, I live by, that have gotten me to where I am today. EVOLVING INTO YOUR PURPOSE

What does it mean to EVOLE?

evolve. When the conscious decision to answer your calling is made you live according to your purpose, the way you view the world instead of the way you were conditioned to view it.

According to Webster's Dictionary, it is to develop or change by degrees; develop gradually from a simple form to a more complex form. So, does this mean that we as women, men, or people in general can evolve? Yes, of course it does but for someone to evolve it must first become a conscious decision.

Purpose makes life meaningful, therefore, you must be willing to go after it with everything it takes to align you with purpose. Remember to evolve in purpose with passion, clarity, and longevity. Embracing it with principles that will serve as a torch on your journey of evolving into your purpose.

It's one's own personal awakening to dive deeper into their potential so they evolve into purpose. When discovering a deeper version of yourself you begin a self-discovery journey.

It is also important to remember that your purpose is important for others as much as it is for you. However, never let anyone determine your potential, rather maximize it with full determination. Stay around likeminded people, create positive energy, and develop a positive mindset.

Answering the calling is not an easy path it consists of struggles, up/ downs, and risks which most are fearful of doing.

You begin a new season to discover your purpose, maximize your potential, and evolve into a new version of who you were created to be.

Many people ask the question, what is my purpose? And most people are feeling and living unfulfilled. I have reason to believe that this question and these feelings are due to a lack of self-discovery and establishing the required principles of one's life purpose. A person cannot understand their purpose if they do not understand who they truly are.

Here is why I say this, so many people only tap into the surface of what they can do as far as their abilities and talents. This is the normal life of getting a good education, good job, and climbing the corporate ladder.

Unfortunately, this is a life cycle that goes on for years in people's life and they never evolve, pursue true purpose, and be who they were created to be and live a fulfilled life.

To evolve from the surface of who you are, one must begin developing the understanding of their true purpose.

it makes you aware of the greatness down on the inside of you. Now you are aware of who you were created to become as a person making a difference in the lives of others (people you called to serve).

Understanding your purpose entails you to trust yourself believing in the abilities, gifts, and talents only you can do. It entails answering the calling on your life, which opens the door to

Finally, your potential has always been present waiting to be exposed.

Once you have evolved into your purpose potential will demand that you never be satisfied with small accomplishments. Maximize your potential by tapping into what you have not yet accomplished, creating new ideas, and reaching the unlimited possibilities.

Now, you are ready to take on the world by doing your part, helping to change lives, and making a difference in the world with your contributions because you have evolved into your purpose.

LET YOUR FAITH BE BIGGER

THAN YOUR FEARS

BY CARIS L. REED Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”(Hebrews 11:1;6).

KJV Let us not be overwhelmed by fear for it is just a mere illusion telling us what we cannot do. But we have the power through faith that whatever we believe will overcome those fears. Faith is a Biblical Principle it was spoken of repeatedly.

As a matter of fact, Jesus said, in Matthew 17:10 all it takes is the size of a mustard seed and you can tell a mountain to be moved from your life.

Faith is your belief system, and the internal hope of force and mental strength of something coming to pass. Always remember you are in control and not fear. Fear is your enemy and faith is your friend. Increase it with scripture, prayer, and actions. “LET YOUR FAITH BE BIGGER THAN YOUR FEARS”

adies, Queens, and powerful women of purpose let us celebrate the beauty of singleness. Now, I get it and I also agree with you that it is only for a season but while we are in this season we do not have to act as if this is a curse, depressed, or cannot live life to the fullest.

If you ever felt discourage as being a single woman or pressured to be in a relationship, then let those feelings or pressure stop here today. You are the breath of fresh air in the sight of the Heavenly Father. When you are single you have the right to celebrate and enjoy your forever moments of personal space and freedom. In these moments Glorify God and build a stronger relationship with Him because this is the reason why

you are never lonely. One reason you should celebrate your singleness because you are so special in Gods sight and He wants you to enjoy Him. You are to find your strength in Him. Find your comfort in Him. A spouse can never totally comfort you.

Celebrate your singleness because in God you find your identity. I ‘m not just speaking on the fact you do not have to answer your spouse when you want to go, shop, hang with girlfriends, or go on vacations.

Celebrating your singleness to much more than that it is the enjoyment of your relationship with God and enjoying yourself. You should dress up in lingerie for yourself because your body is beautiful. You should buy yourself a dozen of roses because you love yourself. You should take

yourself out to breakfast or dinner at the best restaurant because you know your selflove and worth. celebrate your singleness with God and enjoy daily the beauty of His presence and Holiness. He has spoken so kindly of you embrace His words and enjoy being with Him and You. I adjure you, O daughter of Jerusalem, by the gazelles or the wild does: do not stir up or awaken love until it is ready! “Song of Solomon 3:5“And I will take you for my wife forever; I will take you for my wife in righteousness and in justice, in steadfast love, and in mercy. The credit score ranges are: 300-460; 470-525; 530-620; 630-780 (actual score ranges may be slightly different). So, lets talk for the low scores to be established or reestablished.
