-Team Purple

28th August 2024 is remarkably an unforgettable day for team 'Purple.' A day when their efforts culminated in the form of a printed tabloid.

Purple is more than just words on the paper, it is more than news, it strives to bring together the wonderful community of our esteemed department, highlighting student achievements, celebrating creativity, the art, the artist and people who enjoy the art, that’s all we’re about’ says Chief editor, Vementhaanee.

Ms. Ashwathi Ashokan, a senior journalist from TOI launched the first edition of the bimonthly newspaper in awe and shock ‘It’s amazing how the team has worked together in such a short time to put together a wonderful newspaper, this initiative is golden I appreciate both team purple and the department that gives the creative freedom for their efforts,’ she says.

She then proceeded to share her experience working in this exhilarating field, about discovering and uncovering stigma, abolishing prejudices within communities and bringing joy to people while simply doing what she absolutely loves.

The key post holders broadcast their self-made video, surprising their staff co-ordinator, Ms. Jesnie Evangeline and the audience. The special video expresses Team Purple’s enthusiasm in working along with fellow Purple members, sharing their fresh experience, thanking the students who have made this possible as they basked in the happiness of having impressed the gathering, they didn't quite expect anything out of their hands to happen.

Soon enough, they were taken aback by 'happy disbelief' when Ms. Evangeline called out Team Purple on stage and felicitated them with wonderful badges bearing their names and designations. The members of team purple were seen receiving their respective titles with pride and joy evident on the face.

To see the work we’ve done get recognised by a professional working in the field and getting acknowledged by our student co-ordinator was truly a mind blowing experience. I feel such happiness to have been part of an amazing team like Purple.’ says journalist, Ishwarya.

It was the best and highest reward a 'Purplite' could have ever wanted. The badges held a chic and professional look but beyond that it held the pride and responsibilities that came within doing the job that every member in team purple was assigned to, a reminder of the famous saying, ‘team work makes the dream work.’ The event ended with team purple getting yet again a loud applause from the audience in awe, a true reward, the approval and well wishes of their readers.
