In the heart of Los Monteros lies Las Tortugas, a villa of Andalusian essence with a modern feel that has become the true Mediterranean dream of interior designer Mariska Dietz.
Mariska Dietz, one of the world’s most prestigious interior designers, first visited Marbella when she was 18 years old to spend her holidays at a friends’ house in Los Monteros and was completely fascinated by the nature that surrounds the town. So when she decided to fulfil her Mediterranean dream, it was clear to her that this was the perfect place for her home on the Costa del Sol. This is the origin of Las Tortugas, an oasis of Andalusian essence, with tropical airs and modern touches.
A villa with a very special style of its own with which Mariska wanted to show the world how Marbella feels. “When decorating the house I wanted it to capture the feeling that Marbella has always given me. The feeling of the crispy blue skies, the surrounding nature, and palm trees as an icon of the city. Resulting in the interior of Las Tortugas with a tropical modern feel”, says. She is passionate about vintage interiors, but also about the more extravagant style that she indulges in when she dines out on the town, first stopping by the wonderful bar at the Marbella Club, one of her favourite spots.
Mariska’s personality, with a very special sense of humour, her passion for travelling and her exquisite taste for combining antique pieces with modern elements mark the style of the seven en-suite bedrooms that make up this beachfront villa, available for a truly luxurious holiday. “So much love, details, and items from all over the world, I consider all the spaces outstanding and unique. I especially like the combination of good vintage pieces and a mix of different styles with a touch of humor. An interior should never be too serious”, stresses. The favourite plan of this interior designer, who has designed one of the palaces of the Dutch Royal Family and a mansion in Los Angeles bought by The Weekend, is to let yourself go and enjoy the magic that Las Tortugas has to offer.
The forefront of classic style, a timeless way of living. Brands that are symbols of elegance and age-old traditions that continue to set trends. This is the true essence of the luxury of authenticity.
More than 60 years of history, Swiss high-tech and a classic design purely linked to motor racing. The Cosmograph Daytona is an icon that transcends the world of watchmaking, a true legend.
Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of Rolex, was passionate about motor racing and back in the 1930s he began to link his prestigious watchmaker with some of the elite drivers of the time. In 1963 Rolex introduced the Cosmograph Daytona, a chronograph that paid tribute to the iconic Daytona Beach speedway in Florida. Thus began the history of a watch that has captivated the world’s greatest drivers, such as Hollywood actor Paul Newman, one of the Swiss brand’s most iconic faces.
Despite its strong link to motor racing, the Rolex Daytona did not remain on the racetrack, because the drivers also wore it in their everyday lives. “Since its origin, the Daytona has symbolised the determination of those who have the courage to go their own way, by their own rules,” Rolex says. Jackie Stewart (Dunbartonshire, Scotland, 1939), one of the most acclaimed Formula 1 drivers of the last 50 years, is another who loved the brand, which even appointed him Grand Marshal of the 50th anniversary edition of the Rolex 24 Daytona.
The Cosmograph Daytona was originally equipped with Valjoux movements and calibre 4030, and in 1988 Rolex engineers added the Zenith calibre, the world’s first high-frequency self-winding chronograph movement. A legendary design that has marked the modern history of Swiss watchmaking.
In Hans Wilsdorf’s continuous quest for excellence since the company’s origins, in the early 2000s Rolex wrote a new chapter in the history of its most emblematic watch with the introduction of the 4130 calibre. For years, the brand’s engineers worked on perfecting the calibre, which was optimised to become the 4131 in 2023, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the Cosmograph Daytona.
“First you must know what you want, and then you must do everything you can to achieve it. The will to succeed, a manifestation of the will to live, is of vital importance,” commented the founder of Rolex in one of his momentous public speeches.
Over its six decades of history, the Daytona calibre has established itself as one of the most efficient and robust in the world, withstanding even the toughest conditions.
Throughout its history, the Rolex emblem has evolved in the design of the dials, the play of colours and the architecture of the cases, enhancing its classic elegance, the hallmark of the Swiss firm’s savoir-faire.
The latest version of the Cosmograph Daytona, the calibre 4132, returns to its motor racing and adrenaline-fuelled origins, as this model pays tribute to the centenary of the Le Mans 24 Hours endurance race, which will be commemorated in 2023.
Numerous versions, authentic jewels for collectors and lovers of the brand, have managed to keep intact the essence of a chronograph that is unique in the world.
Indulging in a Habano cigar is to embrace an authentic lifestyle, a renewed tradition that has become a symbol of pleasure and the art of savoring life’s finest moments.
Habanos, protected under the Denomination of Origin (D.O.P), certifies the quality of a select collection of brands that craft their tobacco in a traditional manner, adhering to a stringent process. This begins with leaves harvested from special and protected origin zones. Their high quality is attributed to the handcrafted methods, dating back over two centuries in Havana, a tradition passed down through generations and remaining almost intact.
From the planting of the tobacco seed to the careful placement of a Habano in its box, over 500 manual agricultural and factory processes are involved, making each cigar special and worthy of an authentic ritual.
The act of lighting and cutting a Habano is a ceremony in itself. Despite the variety of brands, flavors, shapes, and prices that offer different experiences, they all share the magical essence and lifestyle they represent.
A classic style, yet at the forefront. In addition to traditional pairings of Habano with cognac, brandy, or rum, new combinations include exclusive cocktails, craft beers, or Jerez wines. Offering Habanos is also a tradition that endures and evolves. The cigar corner, increasingly popular at weddings, is a space where guests receive their Habano, expertly cut and lit following a ritual. Celebrating life with a fine Habano is a true luxury that adapts to modern times.
The Marina of Puente Romano is one of the most exclusive and coveted locations in Marbella. This duplex penthouse, featuring six bedrooms, six bathrooms, and a private pool bathed in Mediterranean essence, is the perfect home for sea lovers and those who appreciate the elegant Marbella lifestyle.
A unique opportunity for those seeking luxury and exclusivity, this spectacular fully renovated duplex penthouse meets high standards of quality and boasts a sophisticated interior design. Its south-facing orientation and beachfront location make this property a true Mediterranean delight. A large living room dominated by a cozy fireplace and an elegant bar welcomes you on the first floor of this luxurious residence.
This exclusive property results from the merger of two penthouses, spread over two floors and offers privileged frontal views of the Mediterranean and expansive terraces. It features two living areas that provide versatile spaces: one designed for entertainment with a spacious bar and the other, a true sanctuary for relaxation, each with unparalleled style and luxury.
One of the most impressive rooms in the house is the master suite, an ode to elegance and good taste with two majestic walk-in closets and two bathrooms. A fully equipped gym and a heated pool with resistance swimming technology to swim while enjoying the Mediterranean breeze are other gems of this exclusive property.
Envision a residence where your supercar isn’t merely parked but prominently displayed as a centerpiece. In each Painite Villa, a private car lift with a 360-degree protective glass shield transforms your supercar into a living art installation. Nestled within the tranquil hills of Los Jaralillos, Tierra Viva is a gated community developed by DarGlobal.
Every villa is strategically positioned to capture unobstructed sea views of the glistening Mediterranean.Located merely 15 minutes from the lively allure of Marbella, the Painite Villas embody the Lamborghini spirit—dynamic, distinctive, and designed for the extraordinary. Here, luxury isn’t just lived; it’s experienced in full throttle.
“Trees should always be taller than buildings,” proclaimed this nature-loving architect who successfully merged architecture and landscaping, creating a distinctive style that shaped the urban development of Marbella.
In the lush landscape of Marbella, a revolution in design emerged in the 1970s, forever transforming the architectural face of Spain’s coastal cities. Amidst a burgeoning tourist boom, Marbella shunned the rising trend of towering beachfront structures. Instead, this gem of the Costa del Sol embraced a new vision: white-washed housing developments nestled amidst verdant Mediterranean gardens, adorned with meticulous architectural details and premium wood elements.
These homes, reminiscent of traditional Andalusian villages nestled in the surrounding hills, later evolved to epitomize the authentic luxury that has long captivated European aristocracy and international high society.
The mastermind behind this transformation, which positioned Marbella as a world-class tourist destination, was Melvin Villarroel (1931-2010). A Bolivian-born architect educated in Chile, Villarroel first arrived in Marbella in 1973 to construct the Torre Real. Se-
ttling in the Costa del Sol, he met Tulio Pina, a Sevillian developer planning to erect three ten-story residential towers on the beachfront land now home to Puente Romano.
“My father persuaded the developer to create something unprecedented, not just simple houses or apartments, but a horizontal building that seemed to emerge from nature itself, echoing the essence of Andalusian white villages”, recalls Pablo Villarroel. Despite the initial setback of the 1975 oil crisis, which halted construction, Villarroel used this period to explore nearby towns, studying their architecture and selecting plants to breathe life into the unfinished structure.
“Now is the time for plants”, Villarroel declared, venturing into the countryside to gather various species. He strategically placed banana trees beneath Araucaria trees, creating the distinctive microclimate that characte-
rizes Puente Romano. When economic prosperity returned, syrian developer Al Midani expressed interest in purchasing the project, and Villarroel successfully convinced him that this Andalusian village, teeming with thousands of plants, could become one of the world’s finest hotels – a status now held by Puente Romano Beach Resort.
A self-proclaimed Mediterranean at heart, Villarroel was deeply in love with Marbella and Andalucía. He captured the essence of popular architecture and melded it with spacious, high-quality spaces that catered to top-tier tourism, transforming the ordinary into exclusive luxury. “I remember spending days with my father, wandering through small towns like Casares and their surrounding fields, seeking inspiration and the plants he would later plant by hand, which continue to bring life to Puente Romano”, says Pablo.
Villarroel’s passion for nature was evident in all his projects, where architecture and landscaping went hand in hand, creating unique spaces in harmony with their surroundings. His concepts, now embraced by cutting-edge architects, were visionary over 50 years ago, setting the standard for quality urban planning in the city. The construction of Puente Romano and Marina del Puente marked the beginning of an architectural revolution on the Costa del Sol, followed by other projects like the La Alzambra development in Puerto Banús and iconic residences along the Golden Mile.
Villarroel’s more than 35-year career bestowed upon Marbella a unique character that endures to this day. His impact was so profound that in 1994, the city council recognized his significant contribution to the city’s beautification.
“All political parties agreed to name one of Marbella’s main streets after Melvin Villarroel, but my father wanted his street here, in Puente Romano, because this was his home”, Pablo reminisces.
Villarroel’s legacy extends beyond Marbella to other parts of the Costa del Sol like Estepona with the Hotel Kempinski and to the Canary Islands with the iconic Abama Hotel in Tenerife. His influence even reached international shores, with projects in China where he introduced Mediterranean essence through an award-winning luxury residential project recognized by the Shanghai government.
His four children—Matías, Pablo, Francisca, and Antonia—have each, in their own ways, continued the path forged by their father, infusing the essence of Villarroel into each of their endeavors.
“My father’s book is our bible, the essence of our thought. We are now doing different things, but the foundation remains the same. It’s a great responsibility, but I believe Melvin Villarroel would be very proud of how we are maintaining his legacy”, asserts Pablo Villarroel from the heart of Puente Romano, where the story of Mediterranean luxury began.

Contemporary luxury in Altos de Puente Romano
This modern villa embodies the essence of contemporary luxury. Panoramic views, a gym, a games room, and even a bar make this villa your perfect home in Marbella.
“Ever since I was a child I have had a deep admiration for Conde Rudi, a character who has marked many of my childhood memories. A man gifted with unrivalled social skills and an elegance that permeated everything around him. His presence has been and continues to be transcendental in shaping Marbella’s role in the world. Thank you, dear Conde Rudi, for opening your home to us”,
“Marbella is much more than jewels and diamonds, it is a true miracle”.
“Rudi, you are the perfect person to help me create the hotel of my dreams in Marbella”, that was how Rudolf Schönburg-Glauchau, better known as Conde Rudi, heard about Marbella for the first time in the early 1950s, when he was living in his homeland, Saxony (Germany) and had already passed through several prestigious hotels such as the Palace or the Four Seasons, after training at the Hotel Management School in Lausanne (Switzerland). Those words, which marked the course of his life and also the history of the golden years of Marbella, were pronounced by Alfonso de Hohenlohe, who at that time had begun to build the Marbella Club, the dream of a visionary in love with the city that has ended up becoming one of the best hotels in the world. An intense life, dedicated body and soul to the Marbella Club, where Count Rudi has witnessed the arrival of the aristocracy and high society to a unique destination in the world.
Do you remember the first time you visited Marbella?
Of course I remember, it is impossible to forget that moment, I fell deeply in love with the city the first time I saw it. Just seeing La Concha is magical, that majestic mountain facing the sea is an extraordinary setting that captivated me from the beginning.
What was Marbella like at that time when you first arrived?
Well, it had nothing to do with what it is today, it was a small Andalusian village surrounded by nature. Marbella Club already existed; it was a kind of farmhouse that grew naturally until it became what it is today.
When Prince Alfonso de Hohenlohe called you and made the proposal to come to Marbella, did you think he was a madman or a visionary? What did you find so special here?
Alfonso de Hohenlohe was a madman in love with Marbella. Maybe for those who live here it doesn’t have such an impact, but I saw the magic from the first moment. When I arrived at Malaga Airport the prince came to pick me up in his car and on the way he was showing me the Andalusian countryside and from there I fell in love.
When did the nightlife start to get busy, when did the glorious festivities begin?
Well, shortly after my arrival, we did not stop giving life to the Marbella Club and the clients were fascinated. We were two young people with a lot of enthusiasm who created a great project that has managed to maintain its style until today. The Marbella Club is very intimate and the key is that the management has always lived together with the clients.
What did the opening of the Marbella Club Beach Club mean for the city?
That opening was one of the most fun moments in the history of Marbella Club, it was the first Beach Club in the city and one of the first in Spain. That place has witnessed some of the best parties of Marbella’s golden years.
What were the parties like back then and how do you see them now?
The style and the way of treating the client is still very similar to that of those years, the success of the Marbella Club has always been based on treating the client in a close and special way. When Marbella was not so well known it was very difficult to bring customers and Prince Alfonso’s personality attracted many people. The attraction of Marbella was not only jewels or diamonds, it was much more than that. For us Marbella was and still is a real miracle.
And at that time did you think that Marbella Club would become one of the best hotels in the world?
The truth is that from the beginning our great illusion was to create an extraordinary hotel different from everything that existed, although it is true that we did not imagine that it would become one of the best hotels in the world.
Each bungalow had its own style, I remember that at the beginning they were not beds but bedsteads, we decorated each room and the headboards were hand painted by Prince Alfonso, they were all different. The clients knew the rooms by those very special headboards, one rustic style, another German, another French... It was a lot of fun, the clients wanted to repeat in the same room when they came back to Marbella.
During my life I have traveled a lot and I have known very special cities, but there is no place in the world that can be compared to Marbella. The privileged location, between the sea and the mountains and that special climate that makes it summer almost all year round, make it an incomparable place.
We have seen you in the morning, afternoon and evening surrounded by clients at the Marbella Club.
How have you always had so much vitality?
It’s in my blood and the sun of Marbella helped my temperament a lot. Marbella in certain details reminded me a lot of southern Germany, one can never imagine that Andalusia and Saxony can be compared, because they are very different. You can be happy in both places, but the truth is that I am much happier here, which is why I have spent more than 60 years of my life here.
Of all those experiences and anecdotes with Prince Alfonso of Hohenlohe, is there one that you are especially fond of?
Is there any other city in the world that compares to Marbella?
I cherish many special moments, we had a great time in those years, we were two bachelors with the same passion for Marbella. He was the one who brought me here and I will never be able to thank him enough, he said that I was capable of making the Marbella Club the hotel I had always dreamed of, he was a dreamer, a visionary.
What many people don’t know is that he was one of the people who got up the earliest in Marbella, at half past six or seven in the morning he was already walking around and at twelve o’clock at night he was still going on. Of course, his siesta was very important. That is what I remember most fondly, our daily life together.
The book ‘El Conde Rudi: un hombre afortunado’ reviews his whole life, what is your favorite part?
It is difficult for me to choose, I would say, from the first to the last page, because it describes very well everything we have lived in Marbella. It includes some very special moments, the happiest of my life, such as my wedding with Princess Maria Luisa of Prussia, my wife.
When you review this book and look back, will it change anything in your life?
Change anything about my life? Absolutely not, if I would ask to be given another equal chance to live so many years. I have lived very intensely, and I hope I haven’t missed a second of it.
Does Count Rudi have any dreams left to fulfill?
I have fulfilled many dreams throughout my life and I continue to fulfill them continuously, because it is a dream to be able to continue enjoying all that Marbella has to offer.
After such an intense and full life, now in a perhaps quieter stage, what makes you happiest in your day-to-day life?
My life now is not really more relaxed, maybe that is what I have lacked, but I have always been passionate about Marbella, it has been my life. I have never felt that I have lost my life by giving so much to the Marbella Club. Remembering my life at the Marbella Club is what continues to make me happy, that and of course my wife, we have been together for 53 years and she is the person who brings out the best in me, she is my life.
The story of a birthday that recaptured the essence of Marbella’s golden years.
“A dream fulfilled, days of complete happiness shaked with friends and creating memories.”
Celebrating life and doing it in style with one of those parties that become historic. That was the grand goal of local entrepreneur Raquel Zamora when she began preparing for her 50th birthday, an event that, according to guests, surpassed all expectations by recapturing the essence and glamour of Marbella’s golden era.
The Weekend, as Zamora called the party, lasted three days during which the chicest corners of Puente Romano witnessed the affection of family and friends from different parts of Spain and the world such as London or even Iran, who came to join the owner of Rachel’s Eco Love, 11:11 Societé, Lagom Café, and the Milk & Roses beauty centers.
Highlights of the program included a welcome dinner at Supperclub, yoga at Rachel´s Eco Love, a White Party at El Chiringuito, a gala dinner at Villa La Serrana, and even a party where Alonso Caparrós revived the magic of Furor, the hit music show from the 90s.
Her husband Javier Nieto, owner of Pure Living Properties, and their sons, Iago and Iker, supported the main character in this massive party which was attended by entrepreneurs and celebrities such as Felipe Peña, Mauro Cruz Conde, Cristina Reyes, Marta Carriedo, Enrique Solís, Moncho Moreno and his wife Berta, Alejandro Bataller, Albert Beniflah, Zazou Belounis, Manuel Díaz El Cordobés and his wife Virginia Troconis, Eugenia Osborne, and dozens of architects, lawyers, or influencers who gathered in Marbella to celebrate love, friendship, and dreams yet to be fulfilled.
Do you yearn to bask in the marine essence each morning upon waking, immerse yourself in the vibrant Marbella lifestyle, or would you rather unwind in a mansion surrounded by nature? Adrenaline, speed, strength, power, magic... these are the sensations of driving an Aston Martin DB12 or sailing the seas aboard a Wallypower50 yacht. This is what embodies the luxury of adventure. Are you ready?
Robert Bamford and Lionel Martin founded a car company in England in 1913, which they called Bamford & Martin Limited. Two years later, the success of one of the founders in the Aston Hill Climb cycling competition led the company to change its name to Aston Martin, giving rise to what it is today, a high-end car company that has become an emblem of elegance and quiet luxury.
Two values that fit perfectly with the philosophy of Pure Living Properties, which is none other than to offer its clients the highest quality and first class services in an atmosphere of complete discretion. A good harmony between the two firms was demonstrated by the presentation of the Aston Martin DB12 and DBX models in one of the villas that the agency has on the market. “The meeting fused the passion and strength of the motoring world with the passion for a high quality lifestyle in a five-star location,” says Pure Living CEO Javier Nieto.
Aston Martin wanted to celebrate the 75th anniversary of its legendary DB series with the launch of the DB12 in 2023, an evolution of the coupé styling of its predecessor, the DB11. A new front end that brings back the tradition of the large chamfered grille and also makes a reference to other emblematic models of the British firm such as the Vantage or the Valhalla.
The DBX is Aston Martin’s way of showing the world that SUVs and sports cars can be compatible. The DBX 707 is one of the jewels of the firm, which has just launched a limited edition called the Japan Midnight Podium Edition, of which only 11 examples have gone on sale so far, and all of them in Japan.
The British high-end motoring giant, which captivated James Bond himself, is also committed to sustainable mobility and has already begun to electrify its range and will launch hybrid versions of its most iconic models.

In the wardrobe of a true lover of haute couture fashion, there is one star garment that is never missing: the iconic Chanel jacket. It has become an emblem, it is the true essence of allure.
“I care a lot about women and I wanted to dress them in clothes that made them feel comfortable, but which emphasised their femininity”, Gabrielle Chanel always commented when asked about the origin of her jacket. And it was this simple but revolutionary idea that gave rise to the tweed suit and with it to the French brand’s most emblematic garment.
Tweed, that almost rough wool fabric, was one of the most popular fabrics in the 1920s, but Chanel managed to make it exclusive by drawing inspiration from the elegance of the men who had marked her life, especially the transgressive Duke of Westminster, who broke all the patterns of his time with his peculiar way of dressing.
In Paris’s Rue Cambon, where Chanel opened her first hat shop in 1910, the tweed jacket began to be handcrafted, with a characteristic straight, structured cut, sleeves set high on the shoulder to maximise comfort and jewel-like buttons decorated with flowers or the double C that would eventually become one of the great emblems of luxury fashion.
Gabrielle invented the tweed jacket, but Karl Lagerfeld managed to give a second life when he became president of Chanel in 1983. Unlimited creativity and a casual style that managed to reinvent the classic garment to the point of making it a must-have for lovers of the brand. Two years later, the designer combined the jacket with jeans and a striped sports top, creating a true revolution of the garment.
From that moment on, he began to play with proportions, length, volume and shoulder width, creating constant innovations in fabrics, cuts and details. “There are things that never go out of fashion, jeans, a white shirt and a Chanel jacket”, said the designer.
Almost a century after its creation, the history of the Chanel jacket is still being woven, continuing to set trends on the international catwalks and winning admirers among the world’s most famous faces. From Lady Di, to Katherine Hepburn, Claudia Schiffe or the more modern Rihanna, Kristen Stewart or Marion Cotillard, every It girl has a Chanel jacket in her wardrobe.
Andalusian cuisine ranks among the world’s most delectable. The South is a harmonious blend of mountain and sea flavours, with the exquisite red tuna as its hallmark, evoking a rich culinary tradition.
A vital connection between gastronomy and nature challenging us to explore the boundless riches of the ocean, that’s the essence of Aponiente, the Atlantic Ocean’s star.
Ángel León, globally hailed as the chef of the sea, heads Aponiente, one of the world’s most extraordinary restaurants. His profound love for the ocean has placed him in a privileged spot within the culinary landscape, earning multiple Michelin Stars and a prominent position in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants ranking.
“My passion for the sea was instilled in me by my father from a young age, when we would go fishing together. The sea has always been my place, my obsession, where I truly feel free. Had I been a better student, I would have loved to become a marine biologist”, the chef shares with Pure Life.
León’s innovative spirit has led him to rediscover marine species long undervalued by gastronomy, reinventing these products to captivate the most refined palates.
“We must look to the sea and open our minds. We only know 40% of the marine pantry; there’s everything left to discover, and I’m convinced that the future of food lies in the ocean” he asserts.
Nothing at Aponiente is conventional. The restaurant is located in a 19th-century tidal mill in Puerto de Santa María, one of the most beautiful corners of the Bay of Cádiz. The surrounding marshlands, inhabited by species of immense biological wealth, give meaning to this culinary proposal.
Mackerel sobrasada, sea bass mortadella, sea ham made from red tuna belly, hake collagen turned into noodles, or plankton tarte tatin are just some of the iconic dishes of this unique restaurant, which also offers sea honey or oyster gazpacho. A tasting menu divided into acts combining cold dishes, hot dishes, desserts, and petit fours available for lunch and dinner is A Poniente’s star proposition.
The sea ham is one of Ángel León’s great discoveries, paying tribute to one of the staples of Spanish gastronomy, the Iberian pork ham. It’s made from almadraba red tuna, following a process very similar to that of traditional cured and dried ham, resulting in a unique flavour explosion that perfectly complements sea cheeses, another of his unique creations.
The chef’s special recommendation for Pure Life readers is the plankton risotto.
“Plankton is the purest taste of the sea”, he suggests.
Bluefin tuna is one of the great pleasures of Andalusian gastronomy and El Campero is a temple where it is worshipped.
The almadraba is an ancestral technique used to fish for bluefin tuna, one of the most highly valued species of the sea in international gastronomy. It was the Phoenicians in 800 BC who began to catch tuna using this method, which has lasted until the present day. Conil, Barbate, Zahara de los Atunes and Tarifa, all on the coast of Cadiz, are major producers of this delicacy that can be enjoyed in a thousand ways.
In the heart of the fishing village of Barbate is El Campero, one of the few restaurants in the world dedicated almost exclusively to bluefin tuna. Not only does the menu of this picturesque place feature the jewel of the sea, but the decoration of the restaurant also pays tribute to it by highlighting the seafaring culture.
Tuna burgers, tuna usuzukuri or paladar carpaccio with lime and basil sorbet are some of the delicacies on offer at El Campero, which can be enjoyed both in the tapas bar area and in the restaurant. Although, the star of the restaurant is its tasting menu, thirteen courses centred on bluefin tuna that
end with a pre-dessert of payoyo cheese with red fruits and a dessert of Palo Cortado soup, yoghurt and yuzu. A real feast that can be accompanied with sherry wines or with great pairing.
It is popularly said that tuna is like the Iberian pig of the sea, not only because of its quality, also because of the many ways of cooking it. A great example of
this is Julio Vázquez, the head chef at El Campero, who has spent most of his life dedicated to shaping this delicacy of the sea.
It is said that El Campero is the mecca of bluefin tuna and in its more than 40 years of history it has welcomed thousands of lovers of this blue fish from all over the world to enjoy the most prized delicacy of the Atlantic.
