Entebbe

Day 1

Entebbe is your gateway to the country, stay overnight in the city or on the shores of nearby Lake Victoria.

Kibale National Park

Day 2 – 3

A drive today through many tea plantations and local markets on your way to the park. Activities here include a visit to the enchanting Chimpanzee Habituation Centre, observing family socialisation, feeding, hunting and playing.

Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 4 – 5

Boasting one of the highest bio diversities of any national park, Queen Elizabeth National Park is home to a wealth of primates such as chimps, colobus monkeys and baboons, predators such as lions and hyena as well as elephants, buffaloes and hippos. Activities are fully escorted including game drives, boat trips on Kazinga Channel and forest trekking.

Day 6

After spending the day trekking the forests in search of Chimpanzees and taking a game drive in Ishasha looking for tree climbing lions, relax this evening sharing photos and stories of your journey so far.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Day 7 – 8

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is your final destination and the trip highlight, gorilla trekking. Known as one of only a few places on the planet where it is possible to reach these elusive, protected animals, limited daily permits allow just a few visitors a very close encounter.

Day 9

Depart homeward bound or continue your adventure in Uganda or neighbouring Tanzania, Kenya or Rwanda.

Gorillas And Lakes

Kampala

Day 1

On arrival transfer to the centre of Kampala, the country’s capital. Spend the day exploring the city’s museums and parks.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Day 2 – 4

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park today to trek the rainforests in search of the iconic Mountain Gorillas. Treks start early in the morning and are often long and tiring, but from your first glimpse it will be worth it. Spending around 1 hour per visit, your guide will explain the gorilla behaviours and lifestyles, offering a great insight into their secret world. Game drives within the park are also a fascinating way to spend time here, uniquely, chimpanzees also inhabit this region as well as elephants, numerous antelope species and rare endemic bird species.

Lake Victoria

Day 5 – 7

Head back toward the capital today staying on the shores of Lake Victoria. The fresh, cool climate of Africa’s largest lake is a wonderful contrast to the rainforest. Relax on the beach or try out some watersports as well as opportunities to visit the forested channel of the Ssese Islands famed for their wealth of birdlife. Ssese is an archipelago of over 80 islands and home to a wealth of bird and insect life, and accessed via regular, scheduled ferries. Whilst fairly basic, there is an opportunity to stay on some of the islands as an alternative.

Day 8

Depart homeward bound or continue your adventure in Uganda or neighbouring Tanzania, Kenya or Rwanda.
