CARBON FOOTPRINT A carbon footprint is the calculation of emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG) from all operations of a business, products, services or events. With this inventory, it is possible to identify and quantify (in CO2equivalent tones) the major sources of GHG emissions and promote, through sustainable practices and programs, the reduction and offset of these emissions. Emissions that cannot be avoided can be offset through planting of trees by our zerocarbon program. Pureatmospherebrasil specializes in GHG Protocol methodology, which is also compatible with the ISO 14064 and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

REFORESTATION The zerocarbon seal was especially created by Pureatmospherebrasil for companies, products or services that offset their greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions through our reforestation program. Our main commitment is to reduce and offset greenhouse gases emissions released by human activities through direct planting of trees in riparian forests, the Atlantic and Caatinga forests who are waiting for reforestation. Pureatmospherebrasil uses an appropriate reforestation methodology for these biomes, recommended by the Brazilian environmental legislation. Planting trees allows rapid formation of a new forest patch in the targeted area. We use at least 80 species, 5 % are threatened species, 15 % are zoochoric (seed dispersal by animals), 40% are pioneer species and 40% are non-pioneer species.

REPORTS Social responsibility reporting is a tool that has greatly helped companies incorporate concepts into their management which favors sustainable development. The reports are based on international indicators such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the Ethos Institute for Business and Social Responsibility that report the results as commitments, strategy and forms of management. Pureatmospherebrasil points out priorities, sets goals and joint initiatives, facilitates the monitoring of actions through periodic evaluations and enables the company and its value chain evolve together towards sustainability . The GRI reporting and Ethos is the first step for the company in assessing their actions and strengthening its internal social responsibility policies.

LEED CERTIFICATION Sustainable construction is a built space that throughout its development (initiation, construction and operation), is based on sustainable concepts and procedures that generate economic benefits, but also the health and welfare of people. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a certification granted to existing Green Buildings. It is a system of certification and environmental orientation created by the U.S. Green Building Council, which provides the seal for greater international recognition and is the most used around the world, including in Brazil. A sustainable project is not only using natural resources, such as solar energy, natural ventilation and reduced environmental impacts. Pureatmospherebrasil is one of the few companies in the Brazilian Northeast qualified to provide advice for companies wishing to implement sustainability elements in their work, reduce operating costs or who want to get international LEED certification and thus increase their share in the sustainable buildings market.
