Imagine the possibilities. The Performing Arts Center is located on the campus of Purchase College, 30 miles north of New York City in Westchester County, NY. It is a unique complex made up of four theatres of varying sizes, with well-equipped technical support spaces, including large backstage areas and state-of-the-art electronics, audio, paint, scene, costume, and prop shops. The theatres, lobby areas, and support spaces are available for rental and can be adapted in a myriad of ways to suit your needs. • Benefits. Not-for-profit organizations, including the American Cancer Society, UJA-Federation, Family Medical Center’s Open Door Clinics, Food Bank for Westchester, and United Cerebral Palsy, have used The Center for fundraising events; benefit concerts have featured artists such as the B-52’s, Elvis Costello, Harry Belafonte, Bill Cosby, and Michael Feinstein. A formal dinner or cocktail reception in the lobby is often added to round out the evening. • Corporate Events. Major corporations such as Stop & Shop, Regeneron, Citibank, PepsiCo, ConEdison, IBM, and J.P. Morgan have held world satellite conferences, stockholder meetings, employee meetings, promotional kickoffs, trade shows, and private parties in the complex. • Private Parties. Whether you’re going for over-the-top spectacular or quietly elegant, the Center’s large, adaptable stages are the perfect canvas on which to create a unique environment for your party or other special gathering. Conveniently located, with ample parking and multiple interior spaces to choose from, The Center is an ideal and unique option for private events of all sizes — graduations, bar and bat mitzvahs, dinners, and receptions. • Recording Sessions. The theatres’ fine acoustics have attracted Deutsche Grammophon, SONY Classical, BMG Records, and Decca International. The New York Philharmonic, Jessye Norman, Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Garrick Ohlsson, Brad Meldhau, Renee Fleming, and Keith Jarrett have all recorded at The Center. • Film/Television/Commercials/Industrials. Scenes from feature films such as Black Swan, Random Hearts, In and Out, and Bob Fosse’s All That Jazz were shot at The Center. The theatres have also been used for the taping of live concert performances for broadcast and as a set for commercials, fashion shoots, and industrial films. • Pre-Broadway/Production House/Theatre Workshops/Residencies. The Center’s shops and stages have been used to assemble tours and as rehearsal space for major Broadway productions and dance companies. Monkey: Journey to the West, Tarzan, The Lion King, The Wizard of Oz, Annie Get Your Gun, Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, and Kiss of the Spider Woman all started out here; The Classic Stage Company, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, the Joffrey Ballet, and The Paul Taylor Dance Company have been in residence at The Center.
