Celebrating the Coronation of King Charles III
The Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort will take place at Westminster Abbey on Saturday 6th May, 2023.
The Coronation Weekend is Saturday 6th until Monday 8th May 2023
On Sunday, 7th May 2023, a special Coronation Concert will be staged and broadcast live at Windsor Castle by the BBC and BBC Studios.
On the same day, communities are invited to take part in The Coronation Big Lunch – a chance to share food and fun with neighbours and friends!
The UK has a long history of organised street parties to celebrate national events. Why not organise one with your neighbours for the Coronation?
You can find more information about how to host a street party on www.gov.uk – Your Guide to Organising a Street Party. If you’re planning a street party add the details to the interactive map on www.coronation.gov.uk/get-involved
On Monday, 8th May 2023, members of the public can take part in The Big Help Out, which will encourage people to try volunteering for themselves and join the work being undertaken to support their local areas.
Hundreds of activities are planned for the day by local community groups, organisations and charities including The Scouts, Royal Voluntary Service, National Trust and RNLI. Find out more about projects you can volunteer for at www.thebighelpout.org.uk

If you have a bit more spare time, or would like to volunteer longer term in East Hunsbury, then get in touch with us –community@easthunsburyparishcouncil.gov.uk
We would love to see how East Hunsbury residents celebrate this historic event! Send us photos of your street parties and celebrations, or tell us how you took part in The Big Help Out, and we’ll publish them in the next edition.
