Looking back on our events

Once again, a hugely busy time for the community, for autumn and winter. Here we give you a flavour of what went on and get to share some great photos of our community.

We start with East Hunsbury Remembers, our annual commemoration.

Once again the community came together, to create the stunning displays, both inside and outside Hunsbury Library, and also to meet for our gathering on Remembrance Sunday at Grangewood Park. Thank you to our schools, WI, crafters, for a stunning effort, which garnered lovely feedback – as usual.

We continued in to winter, with events at Hunsbury Library, including the ever popular “pub quiz,” craft sessions, art groups, big sing sessions – run by a team of volunteers.

On to Christmas – and we started the season with our annual Christmas event, Hunsbury Festive Fair – in partnership with our friends at Hunsbury Library. 1600 people attended a wonderful day, with pop up WI Café, choirs from Simon de Senlis and Wootton Park Schools, lovely stalls (lovely stall holders!) and we rounded off the day with the switch on of the community Christmas Tree and Santa!

Thankyou for all of the lovely comments about the tree – and thanks to the families and children who once again decorated it with baubles!

We rounded off Christmas with the Parish Council Chair’s Christmas Lights Competition – once again, householders worked so hard to brighten up everyone’s Christmas!
