PUEBLO COUNTY FAIR INFORMATION County Fair Volunteers Needed In order ot continue showcasing the 4-H program, picture boards will be displayed in the Events Center. They were a huge hit last year. 4-H Contests including speech, performing arts, demonstration, cake decorating, creative cooks – if possible we would like to have an actual creative cooks table on display . 4-H Trips including all out of county trips LDC, Exchange, National Conference, Camp, District Retreat, Washington Focus from last year. Project Board – most projects will either be on display in the Event’s Center or the animals will be on the fairgrounds. We will need pictures from any dog shows, horse shows, shooting sports events, and fashion revue. These contests are over by the time the building is open to the public and Dana would like to have pictures for these events. Club Boards – Dana would like to have an 8X10 group photo of your club members, your club motto or slogan or goal statement and a list of projects offered in your club. Get your kids together and take a group picture as soon as possible. 4-H Seniors and/or College Students in their last year of 4-H – If you have a 2012 graduating senior in your club, we need a picture of them and a short biography for their own display board. If you have a member in your club who is currently in college and this is their last year in 4-H, we will need their pictures also a 5 X 7 photo is needed along with a brief bio of each student.). PICTURES WILL NOT BE RETURNED. We also need adults, older members or even clubs to ―ADOPT A BOARD‖. This means that you would be responsible for making sure all pictures, information, and captions are together and come and decorate ―YOUR BOARD‖ on Event’s Center set up day Sunday, July 8 at 1:00 P.M. or Tuesday, July 10 starting at 10:00 AM. You may turn in any pictures you may have to the Extension by JUNE 25th. If you are interested in helping with a board please let the office know or call Dana McClure at 485-3408.

Pueblo County Fair 4-H Ambassadors Help is also needed to be in the Event’s Center from Wednesday July 11th through Saturday, July 14th from 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. The duty of these 4-H Fair Ambassadors would be:  Work a two hour shift (2 to 4 people at a time).  Greet visitors who come to view the projects on display  Wear a name badge and a 4-H t-shirt (if you have one from your club) or just wear a green shirt  Give away 4-H promotion items (stickers, tattoos, etc) to the general public  Be available at an information table to share 4-H enrollment information with the public  Monitor the building to make sure all exhibits are safe Who should this be staffed by:  Parents, leaders, older 4-H members (at least two adults per shift)  Younger members can help, but only if a parent/guardian or another adult is present  Officer’s of your club  Horse Council, Parent/Leader Group, Livestock Council, Shooting Sports Council Officers  Specie representatives from the livestock areas Call the Extension Office with times you would like to volunteer.
