Every October feels like a sacred pause — the space between what was and what’s still becoming. The leaves shift, the air cools, and suddenly it’s not just the weather changing — it’s us. The “Reset” isn’t about wiping the slate clean. It’s about returning to your purpose with a deeper understanding of what you now know.
You’ve seen the highs and lows of building something from scratch. You’ve had moments of clarity and moments that made you question if you ’ re still called to this. But here’s the truth: You’re not behind. You’re just being refined. Every delay, every detour, every disappointment has been a divine setup for maturity — not misery. When God resets your path, He’s not erasing your progress. He’s upgrading your wisdom. You don’t need to start from scratch; you need to start with strategy. You don’t need a new dream; you need new discipline. You don’t need permission; you need perspective.
So, in this season, we ’ re not chasing noise — we ’ re cultivating focus. We’re not just publishing books we ’ re publishing blueprints. We’re not hustling for validation — we ’ re building for legacy.
Reset doesn’t mean broken. It means reborn. And you, my friend, are rising again but this time, with receipts, resilience, and revelation.

This column is inspired by all the solid people who keep their word. Salute to you for always honoring your word.
Some people don’t understand the totality of the fallout that comes from breaking their word. Before I go forward, let me rewind backward to bring some people up to speed… Walk with me.
When I was younger, earning money on the side, it always started and ended with a handshake and our word to seal the deal. I don’t care if I was just babysitting your kid from Monday after school to Friday trust and believe, on Saturday I was looking for my pay
Once that neighbor did not pay, I went and got my mother, aunts, or my older sisters to deal withanyladies.Ifitwasadifferentsituationwith men involved, I went and got my uncles, male cousins, big brothers, or street brothers from anothermother.
When somebody breaks their word to you, you probably don’t realize it at the time I didn’t even realize it back then but they were actually doing me a favor, teaching me a valuable lesson early that would come in handy forlife
Once you give your word and agree, there is no going back on it. And if you do, don’t think everythingwillbethesamegoingforward—no! Nowadays, people just be talking just to be talking, making false promises. You don’t know whotobelievesometimes.
Makesurewhenyougiveyourword, youkeepit no matter what it involves. Don’t get me wrong, I understand things happen that weren’t in the plan and can throw people off course, putting them in a position where they can’t come through But there is no excuse for not honoring your word, period. It is your responsibility to keep it. Your credibility and reputation are in question if you do anything less.
Under no circumstances is that acceptable or tolerated. On the flip side of this, make sure you appreciate the people in your life who honor their word it speaks volumes about the type ofcharacterandintegritytheyhave.
I know we live in a time today where all types of nonsense slip under the radar Well, I’m here to tell you not all of us subscribe to this new-age bullshit! When you encounter those types of people, cutthemoutofyourlifeimmediately. Untilnexttime, staysuckafree.

Words have always been our weapon. From the coded messages in Negro spirituals to the speeches of Malcolm X and Dr. King, Black people have used storytelling to educate, inspire, and liberate. Now, in the digital age, our words are no longer just for survival— they are for wealth.
We are no longer waiting for permission to tell our stories. We are publishing, profiting, and building generational wealth with our words. Books, courses, digital products, and speaking engagements are no longer just passion projects—they are economic power.
For centuries, others have told our stories for us, twisting the narrative to fit their agenda. But when we control the narrative, we control the power.
Black storytelling is revolutionary because:
It preserves our history. We document what textbooks won’t. It educates and empowers. Knowledge is wealth, and books keep knowledge alive. It builds economic independence. Self-publishing allows us to make money while making an impact.
We don’t just write for art; we write for ownership.
Publishing is more than printing books—it’s creating intellectual property that generates income for years to come.
Here’s how we turn our words into wealth:
1. Self-Publishing for Profits
Traditional publishers take most of the profits and control the creative direction. Selfpublishing allows Black authors to:
Keep 100% of their royalties
Maintain creative control
Build a personal brand and audience

We’re not just writing stories we ’ re stacking revenue. For generations, we were told our words didn’t matter. But now, we ’ re owning the pen and flipping pages into profit. Self-publishing isn’t just a path to authorship—it’s a blueprint for Black wealth

Somewhere along the journey, someone convinced us that changing directions meant failure. That pivoting meant confusion. That rebranding meant inconsistency. But what if it actually meant obedience? What if your shift is the strategy God’s been waiting for you to finally surrender to?
Rebranding isn’t quitting — it’s evolving. It’s the visible proof that you ’ ve outgrown the level you once prayed for. Every brand, every author, every entrepreneur has seasons where the old message no longer fits the new mission. You can’t keep showing up like the 2020 version of you when your 2025 assignment requires greater alignment, clarity, and confidence.
Sometimes God will shake the very foundation you built, not to destroy it, but to rebuild it with stronger materials — truth, integrity, and divine order. When your brand matures, your audience shifts. Your visuals, your voice, your vision — they start speaking a new language. And the ones who are meant to go with you will understand the translation.
Evolution looks like new colors, new systems, new standards. It looks like raising your prices, rewriting your captions, and reimagining your purpose. It looks like taking your name off things that no longer reflect your growth. It’s no longer about being popular — it’s about being positioned.
This is your permission slip to change. You’re not inconsistent — you ’ re becoming. You’re not all over the place — you ’ re all in alignment. Rebranding is the proof that you ’ ve learned something powerful about yourself and your calling. It’s what happens when destiny outgrows design.
Don’t fear the pivot — embrace the proof.

Pretty won’t pay the bills. A polished feed won’t fund your freedom. And no amount of trending audios will build a real legacy if there’s no strategy behind your message.
Every post, every caption, every video you share is either a seed or a signal — a seed of what you believe in, or a signal of what you stand for. But if your message is only dressed up for likes and not positioned for longevity, you ’ re building attention without authority. The algorithms might clap for you, but Heaven is asking, “What’s the purpose?”
In this new era, the power belongs to those who post with precision. Strategy is the secret sauce most creators skip because it takes discipline and direction. But strategy is how you convert followers into family, and viewers into buyers. It’s how your words stop scrolling and start selling.
You can’t afford to keep posting content that looks good but lacks call and conviction. You can’t afford to chase aesthetics that have no anointing. You’re not just a brand — you ’ re a blueprint. That means everything you share must be intentional. It must lead somewhere — to your book, your business, your offer, your purpose.
Because let’s be clear: when you speak with clarity, you attract clients with confidence. When you show up with focus, you shift the feed. And when you combine faith with strategy, you become unstoppable.
This quarter, post less perfection and more power. Speak like the expert you ’ ve been prepared to be. Stop rehearsing and start releasing. Your content deserves to convert — because your calling already does.

Before the Chamber was a movement, before the logo, before the vision had a website or a name — there were authors who said yes first.
They didn’t wait for proof. They invested in purpose. They believed in the mission of protecting, educating, and empowering Black authors long before the world understood the magnitude of what we were building.
To our Founding Members of the Published + Black Chamber of Commerce, your faith laid the foundation for a future that will outlive us all. You didn’t just join an organization; you helped shape history. You are the blueprint for unity, collaboration, and literary excellence. Because of your investment, doors are opening for authors who once thought they had none. Conversations are happening in rooms that once ignored us. Policies are being drafted to protect our intellectual property and secure our economic power. And at the center of it all — is you.
Your courage turned vision into validation. Your commitment turned a concept into a collective. Your belief turned an idea into impact.

May every word you write, every book you publish, and every brand you build be a reflection of the same boldness that brought you here. You are not just founding members — you are founders of a legacy.
With deep gratitude and respect,
