The company is now one of the few specialty charcutiers in the Capitale-Nationale region. Le Bangard produces a variety of artisanal dry sausages and other charcuteries. The company also offers condiments, pickled vegetables, and transform cheeses, tofu, chicken, and fish for its catering service. Among its flagship products are bacon with notes of Jamaican pepper and clove, brisket-based smoked meat with roasted spices and coffee aromas, mild chorizo, wild mushroom and red wine-flavored sausage, and housesmoked cheddar and Calvados sausage. Pork rillettes confit in duck fat round out the current offerings. Le Bangard’s delights are, of course, used by its catering service, which prepares spectacular appetizers. The company offers boards and lunch boxes for all budgets.

Since its inception in 2018, Roadloft has experienced remarkable growth and become the leader in non-permanent car conversions in Quebec. The key to its success is simple: offering the RV lifestyle for just $20 a day, all within the same vehicle you use daily.
The company provides solutions for all types of vehicles. After initially launching a transformation kit for minivans and then for SUVs, Roadloft is now introducing a version designed for hatchback vehicles.
These camping kits are independent of the vehicle and require no permanent modifications. They can be installed in just a few minutes, are removable, and can be transferred from vehicle to vehicle for many years. The kits include a comfortable 3.5-inch mattress protected by a waterproof cover, an integrated kitchen with a space for a fridge, a drawer for a two-burner propane gas stove, a cutting board, a retractable sink, and storage spaces under the bed. Along with a practical and aesthetically pleasing design, Roadloft has incorporated the best eco-friendly manufacturing processes to meet its goals.
Located on de la Commune Street in the Old Port of Montreal, La Boqueria offers affordable Spanish cuisine in a friendly atmosphere. The menu features a wide variety of tapas to enjoy in the charming 40-seat dining room or on the spacious terrace during the summer.
When La Boqueria was created, its owners—the same team behind the successful neighboring Mexican restaurant La Catrina—wanted to offer a restaurant with a festive ambiance, sharing plates, and late-night hours. «With all the festivities and shows happening in Old Montreal, many people look for a place to eat late in the evening,» says Emiliano Gonzalez Camarena, one of the co-owners. La Boqueria thus welcomes visitors every day from noon to midnight—a rarity in Montreal!
The menu, crafted by the talented Colombian chef David Melo Rubio, features many traditional tapas (Iberian ham croquetas, fried calamari, artichokes, and so on), as well as shareable paellas, grilled meats, seafood (we loved the white wine confit prawns!), ceviches, and fish carpaccios. A true culinary journey to the heart of Spain!
In 2015, brothers Jean-Sebastien and Jean-Jeremie Siow founded SUITABLEE, a Montreal-based company designing custom suits for men and women. Passionate about fashion and technology, these two engineers had the idea to use artificial intelligence (AI) to offer perfectly tailored clothing at affordable prices.
Like many children of Asian immigrant parents, JeanSebastien and Jean-Jeremie Siow pursued scientific studies and became engineers. «My father, a Chinese man from Mauritius, and my mother, a Vietnamese woman, both immigrated to Canada. They wanted us to have stable jobs,» says Jean-Sebastien. However, the brothers quickly realized that their engineering careers did not fulfill them. Fashion enthusiasts, they decided to start a business. In the early years, Jean-Jeremie continued working to reassure their parents while Jean-Sebastien offered mobile tailoring services. «At first, I didn’t have an office. I would go to people’s homes and take their measurements manually. With experience, I eventually could guess the measurements just by looking at the person in front of me.»
This is how the idea of using AI came to mind. «When people visit us in one of our two workshops in Old Montreal or Brossard, we use infrared technology to perform a body scan. We measure circumferences, lengths, and even angles. This gives us extremely precise measurements to create a digital pattern.»
THE MANY ADVANTAGES OF AI
Precision is not the only advantage of AI. By avoiding human error, it also reduces costs. «Our suits require only one visit and very few, if any, alterations, unlike traditional tailoring,» comments Jean-Sebastien. Therefore, the prices are very competitive, and the quality is exceptional!
Additionally, if you can’t visit in person, you can order online by simply answering a few questions on the website (height, weight, arm length, etc.). Over the years, the company has accumulated thousands of data points, allowing them to create hundreds of patterns to suit various body types. In just a few seconds, the website suggests the pattern that fits best. Customers can also personalize their suits online as they wish. «On-site, we have a team of stylists to help clients choose fabrics and styles, but the online application is very convenient for someone who doesn’t want to travel or who lives outside Canada.»
PRÔNER LA DIVERSITÉ DANS L’INDUSTRIE DE LA MODE
When they started in the industry, the brothers knew they stood out. «You don’t see many Asian designers in this field. When we first started, we posted photos of our suits on social media and our website, but we cropped our heads out! Then, at some point, we wondered if our clients were ready to accept Asian faces, so we published some of our models with our faces included. Our website traffic literally exploded. We were thrilled.» Today, SUITABLEE has clients of all backgrounds from all over North America.
The company has also just launched a collection for women. In the short and medium term, the brothers plan to open boutiques across the country in major cities, including Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver. Soon, AI will be even more advanced to provide each client with online recommendations based on various criteria, such as the context of suit use. «For example, someone getting married will be offered different choices than someone needing a suit for work,» explains the entrepreneur. In short, SUITABLEE continues to surprise us!
It is easily recognized by its European allure, dreamy castle, and the lush surrounding nature. But behind the fortifications and beyond, there is so much to see in Quebec City. Follow us to discover our best addresses for a captivating stay.
From one end of the city to the other, particularly in Old Quebec and the central neighborhoods, there are numerous attractions to visit. In summer and early fall, regardless of the weather, many activities, such as various festivals and outdoor events, enliven the city. In winter, with the snow adding to the scenery, the experience is different but no less interesting!
Saint-Jean Street is a must to fully immerse yourself in the bustling atmosphere of the capital. In the Saint-Jean-Baptiste district, the Érico chocolatier is the ideal place for a sweet treat, whether it’s ice cream on hot days or artisanal hot chocolate during colder times. Next to the shop, you’ll find a charming chocolate museum designed by museologists. There, you can discover the fascinating history of chocolate from the Mayans to the present day and observe master chocolatiers at work. At the other end of the street, in the heart of Old Quebec, Pub Saint-Patrick is perfect for enjoying a cold beer in a convivial atmosphere.
The Plains of Abraham is the perfect place for relaxation and sports activities, as well as for learning more about the military history of the Old Capital. The Plains Museum offers interesting exhibits, including Quebec 1775: Snowbound and Under Siege, which deals with an unknown part of the American invasion of the city. Two outdoor escape games (The Great Wars Challenge and The Forgotten) and a family treasure hunt (The Architect’s Hideout), allow visitors to discover or rediscover the large park with fresh eyes.
Whether you prefer regional or international cuisine, Quebec City is full of restaurants offering varied horizons. Local establishments are known for their quality products and diverse flavors, with many chefs using locally sourced ingredients, making the experience all the more interesting.
If the European charm of Quebec inspires you for a meal, Parmesan restaurant on Saint-Louis Street, near Château Frontenac, will make you live the Italian Dolce Vita. With an accordionist, traditional dishes, and in-house smoked meats, the new management of the establishment makes every effort to give you an unforgettable evening.
In a different vein, in the Saint-Malo district near downtown, another atmosphere comes alive on the premises of Arsenal Distillery. Whether on the rooftop terrace of the building, a former ammunition factory, or inside in a chic setting, you can enjoy a delicious meal and even visit the state-of-the-art distillery facilities.
Whether you are a fan of jazz, good food, or architecture, New Orleans is the perfect place for a short getaway. You’ll have time to stroll through its historic neighborhoods, discover its music scene, and visit some plantations. Day or night, this city will captivate you!
In the morning, a visit to the French Quarter is a must. The French Quarter is the historic heart of New Orleans. Despite its name, it features beautiful buildings with Spanish architecture. To soak up its ambiance, there’s nothing like wandering through its streets. You can also book a guided tour to discover hidden spots.
In the afternoon, you can visit the Voodoo Museum, the Museum of Slavery, or the Jazz Museum. End the evening in style at one of the jazz clubs on Frenchmen Street in the Faubourg Marigny neighborhood. Three Muses, Snug Harbor, and The Spotted Cat are among the most renowned. For traditional jazz, head to Preservation Hall. You can also have dinner in the area. Additionally, feel free to take a drink to go, as New Orleans allows walking down the street with an alcoholic beverage!
We recommend avoiding Bourbon Street in the evening. Unfortunately, this street has become extremely noisy and uninteresting.
DAY 2
One of our favorite neighborhoods is the Garden District. Along its oak-lined avenues, it houses majestic mansions popular with celebrities. Upon exiting the tram, stroll through Lafayette Cemetery. It is said to have hosted many voodoo ceremonies. Then, head to the area bounded by Prytania St. to the north, Camp St. to the south, First St. to the east, and 4th St. to the west. This is where the most beautiful homes are, including those of Anne Rice, the author of Interview with the Vampire, and actress Sandra Bullock. The movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was also filmed in the area.
Take a break at one of the restaurants on Magazine Street. We particularly recommend Gris-Gris with its large terrace, which is very pleasant on sunny days.
In the early afternoon, take a tourist bus or rent a car to visit one or two plantations. All are about an hour and fifteen minutes from New Orleans and close to each other. If your time is limited, Oak Alley and Laura Plantation are the ones to prioritize. The latter is particularly interesting as it highlights the history of the enslaved community that lived there. These are stories of men, women, and children told through a well-documented small museum. The guided tour of the plantation is also worthwhile. You will learn more about the Creole culture from yesterday to today throughthe Duparc family’s history.
If you prefer a day in nature that is still in the city, take a trip to City Park. Larger than Central Park in New York, it has a botanical garden and a beautiful sculpture garden. It also houses the New Orleans Museum of Art. You can rent bikes, kayaks, and paddle boats there.
In the evening, embark on a cruise on the Mississippi aboard the steamboat Natchez. You’ll feel like you’re traveling back in time. You can dine on board and listen to a jazz concert.
Of course, at any time during your stay, try local culinary specialties such as gumbo, jambalaya, po’boy sandwiches, or crawfish.
Ideally located in the heart of the French Quarter in New Orleans, the Hotel Monteleone has welcomed numerous celebrities since its inception in 1886, from Truman Capote to Ernest Hemingway to Tennessee Williams and William Faulkner. This long literary tradition indeed makes Hotel Monteleone one of only three hotels to have been named an official literary landmark by the Friends of the Library Association. Steeped in history, the establishment has nevertheless continued to evolve over the years. With 523 luxurious rooms and suites, it reopened its Iberville Tower last year after major renovations, adding 160 rooms and 48 suites to its offering.
The story of the Hotel Monteleone embodies the American dream. Italian immigrant Antonio Monteleone established himself as a cobbler on Royal Street in the late 19th century. However, when the hotel opposite his shop was put up for sale, he bought it, seeing it as an opportunity to change his destiny. The 64-room hotel quickly became one of the favorite destinations of the country’s intellectual elite. Gradually, Antonio Monteleone undertook a series of renovations to offer an additional 330 rooms. He also decided to rename the building «Hotel Monteleone.» After his death, his son Frank took over the reins and built another 200 rooms as New Orleans enjoyed a jazz craze during the roaring twenties. Today, the establishment is owned by the fifth generation of the Monteleones. It is one of the few independent hotels to have survived the economic turbulence of the Great Depression, two hurricanes, and COVID-19. Above all, it is still a place of elegance and sophistication, offering its visitors an unforgettable stay.
AN INSPIRATIONAL PLACE FOR WRITERS
Certified Four Diamonds and recognized by the Historic Hotels of America program since 2007, the Hotel Monteleone has hosted numerous writers since its inception. William Faulkner wrote his famous novel The Sound and the Fury there, Tennessee Williams penned The Rose Tattoo at the hotel, and Ernest Hemingway mentioned it in A Farewell to Arms. Since then, the Hotel Monteleone has continued to inspire the works of many artists. That is why, in 1999, the Friends of the Library Association designated it as one of its official literary sites. Several suites, including the Hemingway Suite, are named after writers who have stayed at the hotel, and they offer breathtaking views of the Mississippi River and are highly sought after by newlyweds.
Keen to remain competitive in a demanding industry, in recent years, the Hotel Monteleone has undertaken significant renovations of its Iberville Tower to build 160 additional luxury rooms and 48 suites as well as a heated pool and rooftop bar. Sumptuous with their high ceilings, woodwork, marble bathrooms, and king-size beds, these modern rooms and suites offer all the comfort one could dream of.
A PHILOSOPHY FOCUSED ON EXCELLENCE
But behind the glamour lies the constant efforts of an extraordinary team whose mission is to ensure that every guest retains an unforgettable memory of their stay. In addition to a warm welcome upon arrival, each visitor can avail themselves of concierge services to plan a visit or book a private car service or dinner at at restaurant. If guests choose to dine at the hotel at one of Criollo’s tables, they will be treated to impeccable service and fine cuisine that combines Caribbean and American flavors.
THE CAROUSEL BAR: A UNIQUE ROTATING BAR AT THE HOTEL
In conclusion, the Hotel Monteleone is one of those rare places that combines history, comfort, and impeccable service. Staying there, whether during Mardi Gras or at any other time of the year, is a guarantee of happy memories... that will make you want to come back!

In 2024, Lexus expanded its horizons with the TX, a threerow SUV that replaces last year’s discontinued RX L. Now, the premium brand of Toyota offers a more suitable vehicle though it did not start from scratch.
Using most components from its cousin, the Toyota Grand Highlander, the TX stands out in several aspects. Lexus offers it in two versions: the 350 and the 500h. The TX shares clear aesthetic traits with the Grand Highlander. The design team focused particularly on the grille. The metallic envelope evokes the LX, which sits at the top of the brand’s SUV range. The standard F SPORT package in the TX 500h includes distinctive elements such as 22-inch alloy wheels and black mirrors.
SPACE AND REFINEMENT
The spacious interior is designed to pamper the occupants. Both front and rear access pose no difficulty. Once on board, each person can appreciate the comfort of their seat. The TX 500h can seat six people while the TX 350 can accommodate seven unless the captain’s seat option is used.
Accessing the last-row seats doesn’t require much contortion. As is often the case in this type of vehicle, due to their lack of comfort, these seats are best suited for smaller individuals. Once occupied, these seats reduce the cargo space, which still reaches 572 liters. This volume is more generous than that of rivals like the Infiniti QX60 (411 L) or the Acura MDX (512 L).
The layout of the instrumentation and the positioning of the main controls are beyond reproach. The 12.3-inch central touchscreen is also easy to use. Although it lacks originality, the interior presentation focuses on functionality, mirroring that of the Grand Highlander.
However, the materials used are of much higher quality. They are soft, pleasant to the touch, and meticulously assembled. As expected for a vehicle of this price, the TX 500h boasts a long list of standard features, including genuine leather seats, heated and ventilated front and middle-row seats, and a panoramic roof.
EFFICIENT POWERTRAIN
Under its hood, the SUV houses a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine combined with two electric motors. Together, they provide 366 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque, which are combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission that reacts quickly and smoothly. In terms of performance, the vehicle excels, outperforming most non-hybrid V6 rivals. It does so with a fuel consumption of 9.5 L/100 km, which is reasonable for a vehicle of this size and performance. Lexus announced that a plug-in hybrid model, the TX 550h+, will be added soon. Both the TX 350 and TX 500h have a towing capacity of 2,268 kg (5,000 lbs).
On the road, the TX 500h stands out for its enveloping ride. Unlike the 350 model, the SUV features adaptive suspension that allows the driver to adjust the firmness of the dampers. To enhance the driving experience, the TX 500h is equipped with dynamic rear steering for improved maneuverability at low speeds, responsiveness at medium speeds, and stability at high speeds by controlling the rear wheel steering angle based on the steering wheel position and speed. The luxury SUV relies on DIRECT 4 all-wheel drive, which can send up to 80 percent of the torque to the rear wheels. While the Lexus vehicle is not a sports model, it still provides a pleasant driving experience. The brand has mainly focused its efforts on ensuring optimal comfort for the occupants, which aligns with the preferences of most potential buyers of this type of vehicle.
The arrival of the TX lineup allows Lexus to attract buyers it was not previously able to serve. Does the presence of the Toyota Grand Highlander Platinum Hybrid, which costs about $20,000 less than the TX 500h, complicate matters? The prestige of the Lexus brand still carries significant weight. In addition to benefiting from an extended warranty and advanced technologies, the SUV boasts high-quality materials, meticulous finishing, and a near-monastic quiet ride.
Off-road driving enthusiasts should find the TRD Pro-equipped hybrid Tundra a strong ally. Will they have the courage, however, to venture off the beaten path with their $90,000 vehicle?
The full-size pickup truck, weighing about 2,700 kg, aims to compete with the American «boys’ club,» which includes the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2, Ford F-150 Raptor, RAM 1500 Rebel (coming in 2025), and GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X. The Japanese manufacturer scores points by utilizing a hybrid powertrain.
To extract the beast from its inertia, Toyota employs a 3.5 L twin-turbo V6 whose power, combined with the electric motor positioned between the engine and the transmission, reaches 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque. It is connected to an efficient 10-speed automatic transmission. This Tundra operates with unwavering conviction while emitting a muscular sound reminiscent of a V8. The vehicle can tow a load of up to 5,067 kg (11,000 lbs). According to Natural Resources Canada, the truck averages 12.3 L/100 km in normal conditions, but it doesn’t take much to increase consumption by 2 or 3 L/100 km. The main advantage of this engine is essentially to enhance performance rather than reduce fuel consumption.
Built on a solid frame, the pickup competently handles the road. It remains, nonetheless, a vehicle designed primarily for adventure rather than precision. If the Fox suspension reacts with some firmness and duty calls, it does not prevent this Tundra from providing a balanced ride.
One must appreciate full-size trucks to value them properly. Bulky, fuel-consuming, and somewhat uninspiring to drive, they nevertheless serve their purpose. The Tundra aims to be a serious contender, made even more appealing by the presence of a hybrid powertrain. The TRD Pro package simply transforms it into a toy for a big boy or big girl, as the case may be.
Glamping, an amalgam of «glamorous camping,» is a growing trend that attracts those seeking to combine intimacy with nature and modern comfort. In Quebec, this form of luxury camping finds an ideal playground thanks to the diversity and beauty of its landscapes, and it can be enjoyed in all seasons.
A CHARMING ESCAPE IN THE HEART OF NATURE
Quebec is renowned for its vast wilderness and breathtaking landscapes. Among its must-visit destinations, Dômes Charlevoix offers a stunning view of the surrounding mountains. These domes, with their transparent walls, allow you to admire the starry sky from the comfort of your bed.
The Parc Aventures Cap Jaseux, located on the edge of the Saguenay Fjord, is another popular site. Visitors can stay in suspended tree spheres or perched wooden cabins, providing an immersive forest experience. For those who prefer a coastal ambiance, Domaine Floravie in Rimouski offers log cabins, tiny houses, and cabins with a sea view.
EXCEPTIONAL ACCOMMODATIONS
Lodging options are as varied as they are luxurious. Whether you choose a dome, a yurt, or a treehouse, each accommodation is designed to offer optimal comfort while respecting harmony with the surrounding nature. Some sites even offer private spas, allowing you to relax in an enchanting natural setting.
This form of luxury camping is not limited to lodging; it also offers a multitude of on-site or nearby activities to enhance your stay. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy hiking, kayaking, outdoor yoga sessions, treetop adventure courses, and fishing trips. In winter, activities such as tubing, ice skating, and dog sledding add a magical dimension to the experience.
Glamping sites enhance the traditional camping experience with a variety of amenities that can include private bathrooms, high-quality bedding, and kitchenware, all complemented by a fireplace to enrich the evenings. Although rarer, Wi-Fi connectivity may be available directly in your lodging, offering a touch of modernity in the heart of nature. Additionally, some sites provide catering services or are equipped with small kitchens, allowing visitors to prepare their own meals.
This fusion of luxury and adventure makes glamping a prime destination for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life while staying connected to the essence of nature. Whether you seek tranquility or excitement, moments of solitude, or joyful family gatherings, this unique experience offers an idyllic and adaptable setting for all desires. Moreover, some sites are pet-friendly, allowing your four-legged companions to share the adventure.

Geneviève Tardif Cheffe d’antenne des Jeux olympiques à Paris
VOUS AVEZ ÉTÉ COMMENTATRICE AUX JEUX D’ÉTÉ DE TOKYO EN 2021 ET AUX JEUX D’HIVER DE PÉKIN. CE POSTE DE CHEFFE D’ANTENNE N’ÉTAIT-IL PAS UNE
Geneviève Tardif, a host, reporter, and sports columnist for Tout un matin on Radio-Canada, will serve as the chief anchor for the upcoming Summer Olympics in Paris for ICI TÉLÉ. Energetic and vibrant, she is married to speed skating champion Charles Hamelin. Geneviève talks about this new challenge, her career, and women in sports.
YOU WILL BE THE CHIEF ANCHOR FOR RADIO-CANADA AT THE PARIS OLYMPICS. WHAT WILL YOUR ROLE ENTAIL?
I will be hosting a night show called Bonne nuit Paris, which will air from 10:30 PM to 1 AM. I’ll be on the field every day to present a review of the day’s best moments. I will conduct interviews with athletes and be in a different location each time to showcase the infrastructure or Parisian life.
YOU WERE A COMMENTATOR AT THE TOKYO 2021 SUMMER GAMES AND THE BEIJING WINTER GAMES. WAS THIS CHIEF ANCHOR POSITION A NATURAL PROGRESSION?
Yes, but I didn’t think it would happen so quickly. My career dream was to become a chief anchor, but I never imagined I’d achieve it in Paris!
PARLEZ-MOI UN PEU DE VOTRE PARCOURS. QU’EST-CE
QUI VOUS A MOTIVÉ À VOUS DIRIGER VERS LE JOURNALISME SPORTIF?
TELL ME A BIT ABOUT YOUR JOURNEY. WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO PURSUE SPORTS JOURNALISM?
I have always loved sports. It was something that brought my family together. We would go to tennis, hockey, or football games and experience emotions together. We watched the Olympics. But back then, I wanted to become an actress. At eight years old, I was taking theater classes while also doing athletics and soccer… My job as a sports journalist is a blend of my two passions: communication and sports.
IN THE WORLD OF SPORTS JOURNALISM, WOMEN ARE STILL TOO RARE. WAS IT DIFFICULT FOR YOU TO FIND YOUR PLACE?
I was very lost when I was younger. I tried to fit into the boys’ club because, yes, there is one. But today, I trust myself. Since becoming a mother, I assert myself more, I am better at saying what I want or refusing what is offered to me, and sharing my vision. It makes all the difference.
Y A-T-IL DES FEMMES JOURNALISTES QUI VOUS ONT INSPIRÉE?
VOUS AVEZ ANIMÉ LES BALADOS ELLES BRILLENT ET SPORTIVES, POINT FINAL! POURQUOI EST-CE SI IMPORTANT POUR VOUS DE FAIRE RAYONNER LES FEMMES DANS LE SPORT?
YOU HOSTED THE PODCASTS ELLES BRILLENT ET SPORTIVES, POINT FINAL! WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO HIGHLIGHT WOMEN IN SPORTS?
Working in the media, I realized that men’s sports were often highlighted. Yet, I heard many incredible stories about the women around me. I thought that if these stories spoke to me, they would also speak to the public. When I became a mother, I made it my mission to highlight women so that my daughters wouldn’t face the same situation in the future, that they would have role models. The sports world is beautiful, but we need to make room for women!
DO YOU FEEL THAT THINGS ARE EVOLVING IN QUEBEC?
Yes, enormously over the past few years. Women have gained more visibility in the sports world, and companies are less hesitant to invest. Just look at the success of the new Women’s Hockey League, which filled the Bell Centre, or the women’s March Madness in basketball that broke audience records. It’s the beginning of something beautiful even though there is still much work to be done.
WILL YOUR HUSBAND AND DAUGHTERS JOIN YOU AT THE OLYMPICS?
Yes, that’s the plan! We’ve rented a house in Champagne. Charles and my daughters will join me there at the end of the Olympics. We’ll spend a few days as a family to relax… and drink champagne!
• From Saturday, July 27 to August 11, 2024, find Geneviève Tardif on ICI TÉLÉ, ICI RDI, and TOU.TV in the show Bonne nuit Paris from 10:30 PM to 1 AM EDT.
The podcast Sportives, point final! hosted by Geneviève Tardif and Roseline Filion can be heard on ICI TOU.TV and Radio-Canada OHdio.
BEAUTÉ BEAUTY
Princesse Isabella Orsini de Ligne Ambassadrice des soins Nelly De Vuyst
During her visit to Montreal last April, Princess Isabella Orsini de Ligne officially announced her collaboration with the organic skincare brand Nelly De Vuyst, for which she is now an ambassador. Concerned about environmental respect, the Italian princess uses her notoriety to promote ecology in all its forms.
It is thus natural that this mother of three has partnered with Nelly De Vuyst skincare. Formulated with carefully selected organic ingredients, this brand aligns with her convictions and embodies her commitment to well-being and her desire to share the benefits of conscious, responsible, and environmentally respectful beauty. «I used excellent creams, but they were not completely organic. I wanted products without any pesticides but still effective. When I tried the BioTense line certified by Ecocert and COSMOS®, I was convinced.» Princess Isabella Orsini de Ligne was so taken that she contacted Manon Pilon, the owner of Derme&Co. and Nelly De Vuyst and Druide laboratories. She then proposed to become the brand’s ambassador.
While Princess Isabella Orsini de Ligne takes numerous actions to improve the planet’s fate, she is also engaged with other causes, including women’s issues, notably through her film production company. After acting in 24 feature films, she produced Les Filles du Soleil in 2018, which highlights Kurdish women. Even though her stay in Quebec was short, she noted the significant emphasis on feminism and the openness to others that characterize our province. These elements, we hope, will entice her to return!
Men’s skin, being on average 20 percent thicker than women’s, requires specifically tailored care. Therefore, in addition to lines dedicated to women, Nelly De Vuyst® presents the BioHomme Collection, a comprehensive skincare range for men. (Include photos of the BioHomme range here.)
Manufactured in Canada and adhering to the highest quality standards worldwide, these 100 percent natural products, certified by Ecocert and COSMOS®, are available in luxurious spas, medical spas, and on the website nellydevuyst.com

The exhibition The Art of Banksy Without Limits, which has traveled the world and been seen by 1.5 million visitors, will open at the Maison du Festival on August 16. The event features over 170 works, including several certified pieces, unpublished prints on various media, sculptures, murals, and photographs.
A subversive and anonymous street artist on the fringes of the system, Banksy has always claimed that he is not a fan of museums or galleries. He once said, «When you go to an art gallery, you are simply a tourist looking at the trophy cabinet of a few millionaires.» His works, created in the streets for the public to enjoy, have thus become symbols of popular culture. Displaying and reproducing them with stencils in an exhibition space can therefore raise many questions—especially since the event is one of many exhibitions unauthorized by the British artist.
Nevertheless, this rich overview of the artist’s work over several years, accompanied by a video documentary, allows visitors to learn more about his life and work, and even, for some, to discover them for the first time.
Several rooms explore Banksy’s key political messages around conflicts, consumerism, and capitalism through murals, engravings, sculptures, and installations. One section is dedicated to the artist’s activism in favor of refugees while another includes reproductions of murals recently created following events in Ukraine.
On the walls, ceiling, and floor of an «infinity room» populated with mirrors, works are also projected in the manner of the highly successful digital exhibitions on van Gogh or Monet.
Finally, some of the artist’s most famous works—such as Girl with Balloon, Flower Thrower, and Rude Copper—as well as Mona Lisa are displayed. The latter, dating from 2002, was publicly unveiled for the first time as part of The Art of Banksy in London in 2023. The Mona Lisa will be auctioned this year, after which it will likely no longer be exhibited.
Starting August 16 at the Maison du Festival in Montreal. Tickets are on sale now at www.theartofbanksy.com

This service will be operational as of August 6, offering four round-trip flights per week, reducing travel time to just 2 hours and 55 minutes. The recently added Boeing 737-800 will be used for this route, offering 187 seats and equipped to provide an optimal flight experience.
This service is offered at a single fare of $699, including all essential services to ensure a comfortable and hassle-free journey. This development is part of Chrono Aviation’s strategy to expand its offerings and facilitate access to less frequented but essential destinations. Martin Hivon served as an officer in the Canadian Armed Forces and a fighter pilot for 27 years. In theory, he was retired when he chose to join the Chrono Aviation team as assistant chief pilot on the PC-12. In practice, he had his own airline company, taught aviation, including aerobatics, and worked 80 hours a week. Here’s a look back at an exceptional career.
Martin Hivon could be at home gardening or reading, but retirement is not for him! He has continually dedicated his life to aviation. This former military man is a true enthusiast. In addition to gaining extensive flight expertise on various types of aircraft, including high-performance jets and aerobatic planes, he served as an operational and test pilot on the CF-18. He is also one of the few Canadians to have flown F/A-18s on U.S. Navy aircraft carriers as part of an exchange program. «I was chosen to be an instructor for three years on the F/A-18. I was the only Canadian on a base of 28,000 Americans. I then had the opportunity to qualify for flights on U.S. aircraft carriers. It’s a unique chance for a Canadian pilot. I feel privileged to have had it,» he recounts.
After his brilliant career with the Canadian Armed Forces, Martin founded his own aviation company. He taught piloting and aerobatics and performed at air shows. Additionally, he managed the Rivière-du-Loup airport. «It was my little 80-hour-a-week retirement project,» he explains with a laugh. During this time, he met Dany and Vincent Gagnon, who had just launched Chrono Aviation. Sharing the same passion, Martin quickly befriended the two men. From time to time, he even sent them some clients looking for charter flights.
And, as fate would have it, in 2022, after a 10-year term, he decided not to renew his management contract to seek new challenges. Meanwhile, Chrono Aviation’s leaders were looking for a pilot to take charge of the PC-12 fleet. The former fighter pilot then joined Chrono Aviation. His mandate was to rebuild the team of pilots at a time when the pandemic was wreaking havoc and pilots were in short supply.
Within a year, Martin hired many pilots and, with his small team of pilot trainers, trained them. He also revised the staff retention strategies. Indeed, in a very competitive market dominated by large airlines, how does one retain staff? Of course, salary plays a significant role, but employee well-being, appreciation, and career advancement opportunities are also important. Martin incorporated all these notions into the company’s core values, and his efforts paid off. In less than two years, he managed to more than double the number of captains and first officers on the PC-12. «Since my arrival, I’ve seen the first cohort of young pilots we trained become first officers, then captains. They are highly motivated and eager to learn. It’s very rewarding for me,» he says proudly.
