10 FOR 10! THAT’S AWESOME! PTSMC was named to the Hartford Courant and Hearst Media’s list of Top Workplaces in 2020 – that makes it 10 straight years of being honored as a Top Workplace in Connecticut! This year we ranked 5th in the “small employer group.” While thousands of employers of various sizes have participated over the ten-year history of the survey, as an organization we have the honor of being one of only six to be recognized by our people in every year that the survey has existed. An amazing feat! The process entails a detailed and highly confidential survey that employees are asked to voluntarily complete and submit. The areas of focus include values, leadership, communication, wages, benefits, and culture. If you recall, the survey administered by Energage took place during the early part of the pandemic. To be honest, I was reluctant to ask our people to participate; I wasn’t sure we would have enough people willing put in the time and effort to complete it. I was also concerned about asking for help to make PTSMC better during a period of unprecedented change, uncertainty and fear. Contrary to my concern, PTMSC sent 248 surveys and 171 completed the survey, indicating that 69% of those who received a survey took the time to get it done. The overall results reported showed a 75% Engagement score, 19% better than the participation “benchmark” set by Energage. Thank you. In addition to submitting the basics, several individuals added thoughtful and thought-provoking comments. It was truly rewarding to read the overwhelmingly positive comments about PTSMC. The most common positive themes that emerged were reflective of our mission, our commitment to those we serve, and the shared purpose we have as an organization. Much of what I read reinforced that PTSMC is getting a lot right about being an “employer of choice.” The idea that our people are here

because they want to be here – they want to work towards our mission of “improving the quality of people’s lives” – is a great sign for the continued health of our organization. There is no doubt that reviewing the comments was a “feel good” moment for me, especially in these challenging times. It was very moving to read the thoughts related to teamwork and having each other’s backs. It is clear that our people care for, and about, each other as co-workers and as friends.

“The progress I have made with Travis (Lytle) has been amazing. While that is clearly the most important thing, almost as important is the atmosphere at PTSMC. All the staff are helpful and There were also some insights into areas that need improvement, and I the work environment is so positive. I want to thank everyone who voiced their concerns as well. I believe that definitely enjoy my time there, even constructive feedback is a great tool capable of making people and when I am in (therapeutic) pain.” - Avon companies better. Trust me when I tell you that we take these comments to heart in our perpetual efforts to make PTSMC and PT For Life the very best place for our people and our patients. One of my reflections on PTSMC as company is, “all we have is our people.” Simple yet powerful. Thanks for making us a “Top Workplace” for a decade straight. YOU are what makes us great.

“I have been treated by four different therapists there - all caring, knowledgable, and professional. Everyone knows your name when you walk through the door. Good selection of equipment and alternative therapies such as ultrasound and dry needling. Everyone is very organized and efficient as well as down to earth.” - New London

“Michelle (Kijewski) and her team are not only compassionate and kind, but the smartest and most thorough in the field! Michelle has worked on multiple injuries for me, and she has been critical in me healing from them all. She is THE most important medical professional that I have (and I have quite a few for multiple chronic issues).” - Wallingford

“I found the staff to be extremely knowledgeable, encouraging and enjoyable to work with. I've worked with PT groups in the past and Bryan (O’Neill)'s group was the best I've had the pleasure of working with.” - New Milford
