Description: The MagBase is a base station for magnetic measurements.

The system consists of a data logger, a FGM3D/75 Fluxgate magnetometer and a tripod. The magnetometer is a tri-axial Fluxgate magnetometer, measuring all three components of the Earth‘s magnetic field. The sensor has a measurement range of +/-75,000nT and is mounted in a carbon fiber tube.

The data logger has a built-in GPS receiver, sending the position to the logger once per second. The device comes with it's own power supply consisting of one 12V, 7Ah Lead-GelBattery. An appropriate charger is part of the delivery.

The MagBase kit is designed for stationary monitoring of the Earth’s magnetic field. The gathered data can be used in collaboration with other magnetic measurements (e.g. cience related magnetic cartographies etc.) to correlate or correct survey data.

An associated software helps to export the data to further process the recorded values i.e. using the MAGNETO® software, GIS tools or Matlab with own scripting.

Description: The MagDrone R3 is an ultra portable magnetometer survey kit to be attachable to any UAV /drone with a 1+kg payload only. With 200Hz sampling rate the MagDrone series can easily filter out noise from net frequencies, infrastructure or the UAV / Drone motors. Hence, the MagDrone devices can be directly installed on the drone landing gear to enable a very compact setup.

Description: MAGNETO® provides a very comprehensive and efficient way to analyze data of magnetic and electromagnetic surveys. ® MAGNETO can be used for interpretation in UXO projects as well as for visualizing data in archaeological and geophysical missions. Beside basic functions for displaying data as colour coded maps or borehole track plots MAGNETO® provides several tools to improve the data. The capabilities for an object calculation of MAGNETO® allow for calculation of size, position and orientation including the depth of an object.

The magnetic moment of an object is calculated from the magnetic readings. The interpolation methods used to create colour coded maps are fast, reliable and robust, even when creating maps for large, coherent fields.

Splitting and combining colour coded maps is supported, the maps can be displayed in different scaling and colour schemes. In MAGNETO® custom tailored object lists can be created; textual information and symbols can be added, too.

Reference systems from all over the world are supported and data can be transformed from one coordinate system to another.

The comprehensive import and export capabilities allow for a flexible data exchange with other software like e.g. GIS. MAGNETO can deal with data from vertical difference magnetometer or 3-axis magnetometer but with data from TDEM devices, too. Description: The MagWalk is an ultra light weight portable magnetometer survey kit to be carried by one person by holding it transversely, longitudinal or upright aside the body. The kit consists of a Carbon fibre sensor tube with two built-in 3axis Flux-gates, a 1-button data logger with internal SD card, rechargeable batteries, an integrated or external GPS as well as a serial live data output. With the ergonomical handle and the weight of just 1,600g it is easy to keep in hand.

The MagWalk is made and for small and mid size field studies. Combining the MagWalk with the SENSYS Remote Smartphone App allows 2 Hz live readings of all single axes of the sensors as well showing absolute values and graphs for in-situ trials and investigations.

The MagDrone DataTool can be used to download and convert the raw data into various formats to make a follow up processing with SENSYS MAGNETO, MATLAB, GIS or other software as easy as possible.The system comes in a hard case to protect the highly sensitive survey kit.

SM30 Magnetic Susceptibility Meter Shirt Pocket Size, Sensitive and Accurate Tool for Field Measurement Description: The SM30 is a small magnetic susceptibility meter. Thanks to the high sensitivity we can measure sediments and rocks with extremely low level of magnetic susceptibility. In addition, we can distinctly measure diamagnetic materials such as limestone, qartz and also water.

The SM30 is controlled by three push buttons.

One of them serves to save up to 250 measured values into nonvolatile memory and to recall them later. The last measured value is automatically displayed after SM30 is switched on. If no button is pressed for 3 minutes, the instrument switches off automatically. The SM30 has a beeper indicating intervals in which the information from the rock is picked-up.

The SM30 is powered from two coin lithium batteries CR2430. If the instrument is not used too extensively, the batteries may last for years thanks to their low self-discharge.

Sensor The SM30 has 8 kHz LC oscillator with a large size pick-up coil as a sensor. The oscillation frequency is measured when • the coil is put to the surface of measured rock • the coil is removed tens of cm away The SM30 offers six measuring modes. Four of them compensate for linear part of the thermal drift. The large number of the memory registers (250) is used especially when scanning mode is used. Though the instrument is small, the pickup coil is large enough in diameter to measure sufficiently high volume.

SM150A Adapter Used for a Better Measuring Experience with SM150L/H Description: M150A is an optional accessory for SM150L and SM150H instruments. The corpus of the adapter consists of the tube (diameter of 38 mm) with a good thermal conductivity. Its upper part is in touch with water which is thermostated by small thermostat with Peltier cells. Its lower part ends inside the pick-up unit of the instrument. The measuring pot with the sample is moving inside the tube by means of a small engine.

Thanks to the excellentthermal conductivity of the tube the sample is found in the area with constant temperature and thus the thermal dependency of susceptibility is eliminated.

The adapter is equipped with Pt thermometer, which measures temperature in the bottom part of the tube. It is attached to the instrument by screws and connected to PC via USB interface. It is powered by USB. All parameters (such as measuring frequency, strength of the field, length of measuring cycle, time for insertion and removal of the sample) can be comfortably set from the SW that is supplied with the adapter. Moreover, the SW is capable of doing some statistical calculations and drawing the graph of the dependency of magnetic susceptibility on the frequency.

Operation is straightforward. Sample in the plastic pot is placed into measuring coil for analysis, which is carried out under instruction from personal computer. The SM150H is connected to PC with cable to USB port. The result is available in several seconds and is conventionally stored and displayed on this PC. Flexibility and user friendliness have been the main criteria in the design of the SM150H software.

RESECS DC-Resistivity and Electrode Control System Description: RESECS is a PC controlled DC resistivity meter system for high-resolution research, tomography and monitoring applications. Up to 960 addressable electrodes are connected via one single cable. Any pair of electrodes might be selected as current injector. Up to eight other pairs might serve as potential electrodes for simultaneous geoelectrical measurements (eight channel operation). The software controlled fast switching of electrodes results in a high data acquisition rate - up to a few thousand data points per hour.

MPT IRIS DAS-1 ERT/IP System for Long-Term Remote Monitoring and High Electrode Counts Description: The DAS-1 is a fully autonomous, multi-channel, Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) and Induced Polarization (IP) system that shines in long-term monitoring applications. It has 8 independent data acquisition channels (24 Bit ADC each) and contains an independent, high-isolation multiplexer, capable of switching 64 inputs making accurate four-point measurements according to a customizable schedule.

All data modes and system functions can be operated locally, or remotely under PC control. The time-domain ERT/IP data collection mode measures at base frequencies of 1/64 Hz to 13.5 Hz with up to 35 user assignable windows. The DAS-1 can also collect frequency-domain ERT/IP data at base frequencies of 1/64 Hz to 5 Hz acquiring phase and amplitude. It can collect Spectral IP data at 17 pre-assigned frequencies. As a fourth mode, it can make Self-Potential (SP)measurements at one or more receiver pairs with the transmitter being shut off (software control). The robust, reliable, and world-wide established DAS-1 collects surface to surface, surface to borehole, and borehole to borehole data for 2D, 3D, or 4D applications. It is well suited for environmental, mining, hydrological, geological, natural hazards, and dams and levees applications with high electrode counts. It can also be used for marine ERT/IP data acquisition together with a dedicated marine transmitter.

MPT IRIS DAS M Hybrid Cabled/Distributed Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) and Induced Polarization (IP) System

Descriptions: The advanced and Intelligent DAS-M system is re-imagining how surface ERT/IP data are acquired and how surveys are conducted in the field. This hybrid cabled/distributed system can easily work around obstacles that do not allow for easy cable management as multiple physically independent lines can be operated together. With its multi-source capability, the system can transmit from multiple sources at the same time thereby increasing the depth of investigation and resolution.

Multi-source transmitting is mainly used for 3D surveys with multiple parallel lines and with a transmitter on each of the lines. To allow this flexibility the system features cables with 16 electrode take-outs, four isolated receiver channels per transceiver, full waveform recording, radio communication, GPS timing and positioning, flexible spectral IP, and a modular design with expansion in mind.

Applications include 2D and 3D surface surveys with the multi-line flexibility and multi-source capability in urban environments, environmental, mining, hydrological, geological, natural hazards, and dams and levees. The portable DAS-M Transceiver system (13.5 lbs or 6 kg, and less than 0.64 3 3 ft or 0.019 m ) allows the user to handle rough terrain with ease and uses its long range radio frequency (RF) Module for unit-to-unit communication. All DAS-M units contain a GPS module for timing and positioning and a long-range radio for inter-device communication and multi-source operation. The GPS module enables many unique self-configuring/diagnosing features capable of determining the electrode locations, background noise levels and spectra, creating optimal collection parameters, and array configurations.

The acquisition and control program runs remotely on a Windows field laptop wirelessly connected to the DAS-M units via a dedicated RF interface module. The DAS-M Transceiver has its own 200 Watt transmitter powered by an internal hot swappable 240 watt-hour replaceable battery.

The DAS-M Multiplexer system (9 lbs or 4 kg, and less than 0.39 ft3 or 0.011 m3)has a RF module for communications and a GPS module for location and timing. Each MUX can use up to 16 electrodes with a routing capability to pass transmitting and receiving connections to additional Multiplexers. Every unitknows where it is located and knows how it is connected to the other units.

The MUX is powered by a rechargeable internal battery.

The DAS-M is called M for its Modular design allowing the user to expand their system by 16 electrodes at a time and thereby customizing the system to your size and budget, with the option to expand later. Either through a DAS-M MUX unit or by adding another DAS-M Transceiver unit, which provides Multi-Source and Multi-Line capability. The DAS-M’s tightly GPS synchronized timing coupled with the wireless communication capability allows for collecting data acrossseveral lines without the need to connect them by cables. The basic DAS-M system uses one main transceiver unit, one multiplexer, and one 16 take-out cable with electrodes, plus a computer remotely controlling the whole system through a dedicated RF interface module.

Typical Two-Line Layout

A major advantage is that DAS-M Transceiver and Multiplexer groups can operate independently, allowing surveys to be collected across physical boundaries like busy roads, around buildings, rivers, canyons, dense vegetation, etc. without any expensive cable management. To take advantage of this feature a more typical configuration would contain two DAS-M transceivers units, four multiplexers, and four or five cables providing a 64 or 80 electrode capability, respectively. This gives the flexibility to either have one long 80 electrode line or two separate lines of 32 electrodes each, as shown below.

With more DAS-M Transceiver main units, data can be collected on as many lines, e.g. between Tx Line 2 dipole (red) and an RX dipole (green). Although the lines are not connected, data can still be collected with transmitter and receiver dipoles on different lines. With each in the layout the number of simultaneous receiving channels is increased by four.

The DAS-M can use isolated lines for transmitting and receiving, which decreases the inductive and capacitive coupling in cables and multiplexers, and thus improves the quality of data, especially spectral IP data. With multiple Main Units, the system can collect Multi-Source data where multiple DAS-M Transceiver units transmit simultaneously, e.g. transmit on Tx Line 1 and TX line 2 (red) simultaneously and receive on the RX dipole (green), or any other receiver dipole on either line.

MPT IRIS DAS Marine ERT/IP Solution for Marine Survey

Descriptions: In a marine survey, electrodes are placed along a streamer array that is towed behind a boat and with that resistivity and induced polarization data are collected continuously. Compared to land surveys, a large area can be surveyed and a great amount of data can be collected in a typical field day. One of the challenges of marine surveys is to recover an accurate position for the data particularly if the boat is not able to follow a straight line. The MPT-IRIS marine system consists of a standard DAS-1 Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) system and an external, high power, GPS synchronized, constant current transmitter. The DAS-1 Marine provides higher power (up to 700 watts, up to 10 amperes) than the internal transmitter in the DAS-1 unit. The transmitter has its own GPS module. The module can provide navigation information with approximately 2 m horizontal resolution, but its primary purpose is to provide timing of the transmitter and DAS-1 receivers linked to the unit. By having a precise timing, data can be linked to other, more accurate GPS TM receivers and other types of data resampled and analyzed in ERTlab . The transmitter is directly coupled to a custom cable system to provide continuous data acquisition and is wired to the DAS1 through the multiplexer port. It can be powered from a single 12 V battery but because of the power requirements we recommend a pair of 12 V, deep discharge batteries. These are connected in parallel using the supplied cables.

MPT IRIS Multi Source The Multi-Source System for Transmit Simultaneously from Multiple Transceivers

Descriptions: The Multi-Source system represents a new approach for performing mid-to large-scale resistivity and induced polarization surveys. The system uses a series of transceivers each of which contains a pair of receivers and a transmitter/current source. Each ransceiver has a GPS module used for module timing and for providing location information. The transceivers are connected to a central controller using a wireless communication module.

Each transceiver can operate independently, allowing data to be collected in places that would be inaccessible with normal resistivity systems. For example, the transceivers can operate in urban areas, along roads, in medians, or around buildings without running cables across roadways. The units can also be linked together to allow traditional resistivity surveys such as Schlumberger or Wenner arrays.

Our research has shown that manipulating the pattern of current flow from multiple simultaneous transceivers allow us to manipulate sensitivity patterns for subsurface targets, improving both resolution and depth of penetration. Although this is a cutting edge technology still in the verification phase, all of the multi-source trials to date show substantial improvements over traditional approaches.

1. Astor Pass Geothermal Reservoir Northern Pyramid Lake, Nevada, USA

Highlights: The Multi-Source system used 8 Multisource units in a grid pattern. Ÿ Multisource units required transceiver-to-transceiver communication to collect data around the large (10 to 20 m height) tufa outcrop. Ÿ Multisource was comparable to standard ERT and seismic refraction geophysical methods. Highlights: A comparison using standard surface roll-along ERT and the multi-source ERT proved that the multi-source approach was able to provide a deeper and more comprehensive view of the site.

The Multisource system was able to provide chargeability images to a depth of 100 m.

The IP data correlated very well with known gold bearing zones.

Further investigations and knowledge of the site could feasibly provide data to depths of 200 m.

Visual SUNT Pro Seismic Reflection Processing, Graphical Interface for Seismic Unix* for Windows Descriptions: Visual_SUNT is a Windows 32 or 64 bits software that is linked to SUNT modules (Seismic UNIX for Windows). SUNT is an adaptation for Windows of SEISMIC UNIX (Center for Wave Phenomena of Colorado School of Mine). There are more than 100 modules allowing all usual steps of seismic reflection processing. WinSism Refraction Seismic Interpretation Software for Windows WinSism run under Windows 32 and 64 bits ( 98, 2000 and Xp, VISTA, Seven, 8). WinSism is your Windows solutions to process seismic refraction. The software is user friendly and can be used very intuitively.

With WinSism you can display SEG-2, SEG-Y, ABEM, OYO, PASI and Geometrics records. first break picking is very easy and precise on the screen. On screen corrections are possible for FBP. After your enter field geometry, travel time assembly takes few seconds and data can be corrected on a build-in spreadsheet. Shots and receivers can have any geometry and elevations.
