“I am often called the father of the shopping mall, I would like to take this opportunity to disclaim paternity once and for all, I refuse to pay alimony to those bastard developments, They destroyed our cities.”
Father of shopping malls -Victor Gruen
The goal is to create a mall that goes beyond the usual retail idea by including mixed-use services such as libraries, community meeting areas, child care facilities, and other amenities. Given the alarming rate at which shopping malls are closing due to bankruptcy, it is critical to devise creative solutions to save them.
I propose including a greenhouse into the design to rethink the mall and make it more sustainable. This greenhouse will operate independently of the mall’s operation hours and will be linked to a footpath surrounding the building, which can be used as a walking trail for guests and also connects to the city’s other facilities on an urban level.
