A sport bound by strength and determination. taking advantage of larger pieces as much as possible to emphasize “strength and power” while the thinner linear pieces are met together internally with the nested to create this deep complex feeling going for a new personal record.

the thicker linear is the intense emotions. it starts externally, making its way around the model, weaving through barriers with determination. ending its journey within, intense deep complex feelings are anew, acknowledging the improvements made mentally and physically.

NESTED MODEL

Nested models helped explore ways to incorporate “nested” elements within the larger models such as the use of smaller planes and linears.

FINAL PROCESS MODEL

The final process model almost completes my vision on what “Powerlifting” is as a conceptual piece.

Having racing thought, he goes for a quick walk in the middle of the night. Walking the same path nights on end. The area around him seemed indistinct. Headlights appear behind him, turning around to check. The lights blinding him to where his sight becomes white, closing his eyes. Suddenly feeling disconnected to his surrondings, but continues his walk. making it back home to a restful and peaceful sleep.

These were created alongside the concept drawing to help visualize and grasp the two words “ Body” and “ Soul” conceptually. Mini drawtles were to pull out each specific moment from the story.

GROUND MODEL STUDY

Ground models were created to visualize each moment in the story as 3D elements.

FIRST SECTION ANALYSIS

Monochromatic colors were used to highlight the planes in the model. The purple color leaves an essence of each part of the story.

The color purple correlated with my secondary word “Soul.”

17

Upon making first process model, I decided to have the profrane glued together to honor the “Body” part of my dichotomy. To keep it unified like the human body. The large scale represents the idea of his racing thoughts, one thought leads to another and keeps on going until he decides to stop. The medium indicates the same path he walks every night and the headlights blurring his sight. The small sacred shares a thought whether if he’s still alive and asleep, or his soul has passed, allowing hum to finally get some rest from his mental torment.

The final model carries ideas from the previous model but it is revised. Instead of linears creating connections to each moment, each sacred is met together with the same material to give the narrative a sense of relation directly to each other and rather used the linears to create hypothetical outcomes for each moment as it passes through each moment and leads into a different direction,

FINAL MODEL

The story of the man starts at the bottom, which is the most social and largest space. Making it towards the top, there lies the end of the story within the small, private space.

A long walkway reaches out into the darkness with purple luminescent light inviting the 5 guests inside. that light continues around to show the audiences what lead to his endless nights. he rests on top, finally resting peacefully.

FINAL MODEL

The model extends out and by design, the purple light shines bright to attract guests to the enterance. The light mainly shines at the bottom to allow the man to be at peace at the top

Working around the armature, the skin is made with dynamic moves to create a sense of scatter. In turn, many differential spaces are created within the model. In respect, the armature is kept simple and easy to follow to relate to my second word in my concept - organize.

The coral color emphasizes “scatter”, leading your eyes to the enterance and follows through the whole house vertically meeting in the fourth floor. The color then disperses into three directions, The variety of line work is highlighted in the two main directions, captivating the concept of scattering throughout the graphic. The greenish grey color stays true to organization and datum, being only confined to the exterior walls.

The three axonemetric drawings were combined together into one collage, filtered into black and white. The line work with the high contrast helps develope a better understanding on how a sense of direction and creating connections is important to creating work.

We created a wireframe model to capture the essence of what will become the final model. Going back to my concept words “Scatter” and “Organize”, I wanted the armature to be easy to follow and structured, In thought of using museum board in the future, I saved the idea of scatter for later.

This process model contains the circulation and how I wanted the “skin” of the final model to look like. The circulation revolves around the vertical piece and is easy to follow.
