Childhood friends, Aadil and Suhail, have always been interested in health and wellness. However, it wasn’t until 2020 that COVID-19 encouraged them to take their health more seriously. While on their journey, it was then they realised that not all supplements are created equally. There are considerable differences in product quality, purity, and sustainability. This is when they decided to join forces with specialists to create bespoke formulas and the highest quality supplements to support people’s health and well-being. Prym Health was born.
What is CBD?
Cannabidiol, or CBD as it’s more commonly known, is one of many compounds derived from the hemp plant. It is part of the cannabis family and is known for its multitude of health benefits.
However, unlike traditional cannabis, it contains less than 0.2% Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) — the chemical that provides you with the “high”, which is why it is growing in popularity.
How Does CBD Work?
The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a complex cellsignalling network that plays a vital role in regulating a range of functions and processes in the body such as sleep, mood, appetite, memory, and reproduction.
Although more research is required into the endocannabinoid system, experts believe that the primary role is to maintain the stability of your body’s internal environment.
The endocannabinoid system is made up of three parts:
1. Endocannabinoids
2. The receptors that endocannabinoids and cannabinoids bond with
3. Enzymes that break down endocannabinoids and cannabinoids

What are the Cannabinoid Receptors?
The endocannabinoid system consists of a vast network of chemical signals and cellular receptors throughout our bodies. Cannabinoid receptors are embedded in cell membranes and are believed to be greater than any other receptor system.
There are currently two known kinds of cannabinoid receptors. CB1 receptors are mainly found in the brain but are also present in the lungs, liver, and kidneys. The abundance of CB1 receptors in several regions of the brain could potentially explain why cannabinoids influence functions such as memory processing, motor control, and pain regulation.
The second is known as CB2 receptors, which reside mainly in our immune tissues. These are vital in helping control how our immune system functions.
Endocannabinoid System
The Endocannabinoid System and CBD
Recent medical research is being guided by a theory about the supposed link between chronic conditions and a lack of endocannabinoids. While more studies are still needed, experts believe that CBD either attaches itself to our body’s endocannabinoid receptors or prevents them from breaking down, allowing them to be more effective.
Again, more research is currently being conducted; however, experts are confident that CBD does not bind to the CB1 or CB2 receptors the way THC, the psychoactive component found in cannabis, does. This is why products like CBD oil do not give you a “high” but rather provide a gentle calming effect on the mind and body.

No, all the products we produce contain less than 0.2% THC, the component which causes the high. At this percentage, it is extremely unlikely to cause a high no matter how much CBD you take. Is CBD safe?
Yes, all the products that we produce are manufactured in a safe and secure environment and thoroughly tested for quality. However, if you are taking prescribed medication, pregnant or breastfeeding, we would recommend consulting your doctor before taking CBD.

We only use premium grade, ethically grown hemp plants from our partner farm in the USA. Our management team and manufacturers selected the farm by considering several key factors, with the key being the conditions under which the hemp plants are grown:
Extracting the CBD

For the dietary requirements we aim to achieve, such as our products being vegan and organic, free from pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides.
Whilst being cost-effective allowing us to produce products at the best possible prices for our customers.
This is regularly reviewed and followed from planting the hemp plant, harvesting the hemp plant, straight through to extracting the CBD.
Following harvesting, the extracts are produced using state-of-the-art supercritical CO2 and ethanol extraction technology. This process extracts the cannabinoids along with the terpenes and flavonoids, which results in a highly concentrated resin. This resin is then dissolved in an oil carrier, ensuring that all government regulations are met. Our whole supply chain is fully traceable and adheres to EU GMP and EU GDP practices.
Quality Control
Once the raw material is received by our farms and we work with our manufacturer to create our final products, our priority is to ensure the customer receives exactly what is being advertised. This is why it is our priority to ensure we have a complete analysis of our products which you can view on our website on the Certificates of Analysis page. Performed by a cutting-edge third-party laboratory, you can find an exact percentage count of each of the different cannabinoids and terpenes present in all of our products.
