The Aftermath Prudence Young
The Aftermath is A/W 23/24 collection that center around the exploration of loss, specifically my own personal emotions as I processed the death of a loved one. The concept center around four emotions conceptualized as if they were an explosion and the aftermath that comes along with it. The after effects of death, like any traumatic occurrence, can have an impact on one’s physical and mental health, forcing one to deal with some very deep and unsettling emotions; thus I want my design to reflect that and embody all the emotions associated with grief, including sadness , anger and every emotion in-between.
Throughout this process I will create a luxury high-end womenswear collection with every outfit symbolize a different emotion and showing how grief consumed me and still is consuming me as a person. This will be shown through contrasting shapes, textures, and silhouettes and a color story inspired by everyone’s aftermath.
