The new forms of human mobility in the global world constantly shake the notions of border, nation-state, citizenship, and identity. The new migrations in Uruguay, specifically from the surrounding region, encompass an individual’s multiple dimensions and reveal society’s weaknesses and harshness. The arrival to the city, the architecture of lodgings, the precariousness, the neighborhoods which receive and those which do not, everything is part of a new social geography building the 21st Century. For this episode, three women were invited, together with their children, to recount their arrival to Uruguay and expose the urban-human scenario which greeted them. They shared their account, from a housing and emotional perspective, of their journeys so far and their hopes for the future.
