DIRECTIONS TO PPAC
From points north: take 95S to the Atwells Ave exit 21. Go straight through 4 traffic lights and turn left at the 5th traffic light onto Broad St, which becomes Weybosset St. From points south (take 95N to Point St exit 20) and from points east (take 195W to Point St exit 1A): proceed straight at the traffic light at end of exit onto E Franklin St. At Broad St, turn right at the light (Broad St becomes Weybosset St). PPAC will be on the right side of Weybosset. From Worcester/Western Massachusetts: Take 90E to exit 10A (Worcester/Providence, Route 146/20), which will lead to Route 146S (Providence). Take Route 146S and merge onto 95S in Providence. Then, follow directions for “from points north.”

PPAC requests that all guests arrive as early as possible and bring minimal personal belongings to the Theatre. Guests entering PPAC are subject to search at the discretion of management, which may include pat down or scan by metal detector wands. All bags are subject to search; bags that pass inspection must fit comfortably under a guest’s seat. Laptops, briefcases, suitcases, and outside food and beverages are not allowed in the building. PPAC does not provide an area to check bags, coats, or any personal belongings. Please note that a Providence Police detail is on site at all PPAC events. PPAC management reserves the right to change their security policy or implement any security measures required for any performance without advance notice.

LATE ARRIVALS POLICY
Please be sure to leave yourself adequate time for travel and parking so you may be in your seats before curtain time. Touring shows mandate that we hold latecomers in the lobby until an appropriate moment in the performance before seating them (sometimes as long as 20 minutes) in order to minimize disruption to other audience members.
GIFT CARDS are available in any denomination when purchasing by phone at (401) 421-ARTS (2787) or at the Box Office window. Only specific denominations are offered online at www.ppacri.org (i.e. $25, $50, $75, etc.).
Gift card sleeve includes special complimentary offerings from Gracie's Restaurant and Ellie's Bakery, both located in downtown Providence.

PPAC’s 2017 Gala: Spend the Night with Billy Crystal, Special Guest Bonnie Hunt on Thursday, March 23 was filled with fun, laughter, and fantastic food! PPAC’s Gala is a fundraiser for the Theatre’s restoration projects, ensuring that our historical building remains beautiful for years to come.

Set amongst the glamour and decadence of the 1920s, CHICAGO follows Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly from the nightclub stages to the cell blocks and the courtrooms. These two women play the press, the all-male juries, and the public with the slickest criminal lawyer in town, to try to get away with murder. John O’Hurley stars as “Billy Flynn,” the lawyer defending Roxie Hart & Velma Kelly. One of People Magazine’s “Sexiest Men Alive,” O'Hurley is best known as "J. Peterman" on "Seinfeld," and as the ultimate champion of the first season of the highly rated ABC show “Dancing with the Stars.” After hosting the hugely successful popular syndicated show “Family Feud,” he returned to the stage in front of sold out audiences on Broadway in CHICAGO as “Billy Flynn,” a role he is reprising in Providence. O’Hurley is a proud graduate of Providence College and is originally from Kittery, Maine.

According to Lucy Dahl in an interview with NPR, her father Roald Dahl wrote the children's novel Matilda (on which the show is based), "out of a deep, genuine fear in his heart that books were going to go away." Dahl wrote the novel twice. In his first draft, Matilda was a wicked child who used her powers to create mayhem. Dahl quickly realized he "got it wrong" and "rewrote every word," creating the clever child so many know and love.

ARTS SCHOLARSHIPS 2017 RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED
Jo-Ann Ragosta, Chairperson of the ARTS Scholarships 2017 program, along with the members of PPAC's Community Outreach Committee, are pleased to announce the winners of the ARTS Scholarships 2017 program, sponsored by the Textron Charitable Trust and PPAC Annual Fund Donors. 38 talented Rhode Island students, ages 11 – 14, will receive a scholarship of up to $500 to attend a local summer arts education program of their choice (please see below for the list of ARTS Scholarships 2017 winners).
Two scholarships in memoriam will be awarded to students who exude a passion for the performing arts; one from the Keri Anne O’Donnell Memorial Fund and one from the Jessie’s Dream Scholarship Fund.

RHODE ISLAND COMMODORES SUPPORTS SEATS FOR SERVICE MEMBERS
The Rhode Island Commodores hosted a group of over 80 Rhode Island service members and their families to see 42ND STREET on Friday, March 24, 2017. Commodores David DePetrillio and Colin Kane along with Secretary of Commerce Stefan Pryor and Barbara Cottam, Chairperson of the Rhode Island Board of Education, were on hand to welcome the service members at a pre-show reception. Tickets were distributed through USO New England who said, “PPAC makes amazing events possible and creates wonderful memories for our military members and families.”
