INSIDE: Your guide for what’s on over Christmas and Summer Holidays

CHRISTMAS JOY FROM the young to the not-so-young, all lined up to sit next to Santa at the Mansfield Community Christmas picnic last week. Even this little chap was happy to sit on Santa’s knee for this photo. Some 200 or more children lined up for more than two hours to talk to Santa and wish him a Happy Christmas and vice versa. Merry Christmas to all SHOPPING local has paid off for several of Mansfield’s residents, with the announcement of the Mansfield Christmas Windows Scavenger Hunt winners on Monday, which should once more bring a bit more of the magic of Christmas to town. The big prize winning entrant was ‘Allza Dabbs’, who has won herself $5000 worth of prizes from

The 2022 ‘Buyy local this Christmas’ ggrand p prize winners announced

Mansfield Carpets. She won after purchasing goods at High Country Fresh. The three runners up won $500 shopping vouchers, courtesy of Bendigo Bank’s Community Mansfield & District Bank. Both Carolyn Dunstone and Nadine Bird won $500 each after shopping

at Outdoor Pleasure, and Ann Mudge won hers after shopping at Mansfield Newsagency. On top of the local shopping prizes, there was also the yearly scavenger hunt for ‘Little Bank Piggies’ in our store windows. Three residents won one of three local $100 vouchers. This year they were Scara

Taylor, Kristie Brakels and Leila Robinson. The Buy Local campaign started today on November 23 and offered more than $3000 worth of prizes to spend locally, donated by participating local businesses. Some 25-plus local businesses took part this year, many of which also

donated additional vouchers as prizes. All you had to do to be in the draw was to ‘shop locally’ from participating stores, with each purchase over $25 receiving an entry voucher. The Mansfield Christmas Windows Scavenger Hunt also offered a fun activity for the whole family to work through the list of clues

to find which Christmas windows the Christmas piggies are hiding. Each piggy was holding a single letter to decode the secret Christmas message. The Mansfield Courier and North East Media wish everyone living and holidaying in the Mansfield Shire a very Merry Christmas.
