AROUND 65 65,000 000 students t d t for both the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) and Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) got their final high school results on Monday. This year, 49,581 students across the state will graduate with their VCE - a completion rate of 98 per cent, while another 15,163 students will graduate with their VCAL - 6 per cent more

than th llastt year. Locally, the Mansfield Secondary College community is celebrating the success of the 2022 VCE class after a very strong set of results. There were 27 students that undertook a scored VCE, with 37 per cent receiving an ATAR above 80, indicating they were in the top 20 per cent of all Australian students. There were 16 study

scores off 40 and d above b across a range of subject areas; students with study scores of 37 and above are recognised as high performing. The College’s median study score was 31 compared to 29 in 2021. The College’s Dux for 2022 is Kate Thomson with an ATAR of 99.35. Prabh Sandhu (98.65), Sean Larkin (96.6) and Arabella Green (92.75) were

Commenting on their year together as a group, College Captain Arabella Green remarked, “As a cohort, everyone was striving for their best and everyone else’s best.” Kate Thomson said, “It

was a collective ll ti group eff ffortt rather than an individual game.” Senior School Coordinator, Jess Macdowell said, “I am so happy for the graduates as a group. “As a staff we work very hard with every single student to support them to achieve their personal best and goals, as well as their future pathways.” Principal Timothy Hall said he was proud in the

students’ t d t ’ eff ffort. t “We know that with effort and application comes reward, and our graduating class has clearly demonstrated that with outstanding VCE exam results this year,” he said. “We are very proud of the achievements of the class of 2022. “Their strength is in their resilience, comradeship and willingness to have a go.” ■ Continued page 3
