underpass would be a far more complex idea with more risks to mitigate. Ed Walker, the general manager of Victoria and South Australia projects for the ARTC, spoke about the next steps for the inland rail project in Euroa and what the community can expect to see over the coming months. “Through community feedback, ARTC has clearly heard the community’s preferred option for

replacing the Anderson St Bridge to allow for the safe passage of double-stacked freight trains is a vehicle underpass,” he said. “In recognition of the community’s preference of a vehicle underpass and the additional complexities required for this solution, we have undertaken additional technical studies to better understand the road safety, flooding and emergency management

impacts and risks that would require mitigating. “Prior to progressing the underpass solution to the next phase of design, we want to share information from the additional studies and invite your feedback. “We’ll also share updated visualisations showing the mitigation measures required and answer any questions you may have about this updated information.” ■ Copntinued page 2
