After a record-breaking season, the boys’ varsity basketball team was named Division 4A CIF runner-up, which is the closest the boys’ program has been to clenching a CIF title, and State Division 4 Southern Region semi-finalist. In the Southern Section Division IV-A playoffs, Providence advanced to the program’s second championship, falling to Ribet Academy, 56-45. The team continued to make history by winning two games in the CIF State Southern California Regional Division IV playoffs, losing in the regional semifinals to Silverado, 50-41. Coach Brandon Lincoln was named Coach of the Year.
A'Jahni Levias '20 (photo on the left) was named All-Prep League 1st Team and All-CIF SS Div. IV-A 1st Team. Jordan Shelley '20 (middle photo) was named All-Prep League 1st Team, All-CIF SS Div. IV-A 1st Team, 1st Team AllState- Div. 4 CalHi Sports, and Daily News All-Area Honorable Mention. Bryce Whitaker '20 (photo on the right) was named All-Prep League 1st Team and All-CIF SS Div. IV-A 2nd Team. Jyah LoVett ‘22 (photo on the left) was named Division IV-AA 1st Team for girls’ basketball and was also named Freshman of the Year by the Daily News. Ariel Gordillo ‘19 (photo on the right) was named Division IV-AA 2nd Team.

The Senior Class personified the Providence mission through service by spending the day serving St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic elementary school. The students worked on various projects including painting, gardening, cleaning, and designing a mural.

The boys’ track and field team captured their second league title in a row. Last year, they conquered in the Liberty League, this year they came home with the Prep League title.


Nick Montijo ‘20 and Nadia Singleton ‘20 were named the league’s Most Valuable Track Athlete for the boys’ and girls’ track teams. This year’s Academic Decathlon team earned 14 medals. A special shout out goes to Michael Garcia '20, Tara Karawia '19, and Emily Mayor '19 for winning first place.


Seniors in the Technology Focus Program took a trip to The Boring Company to learn about their latest tunnel project. Right across from the tunnel site, they took a quick detour to check out the Falcon 9 rocket at SpaceX.

The Tri-M Music Honor Society organized “PHS Rocks,” a special benefit concert for the organization, Shane’s Inspiration. The event took place on May 19th at The Federal in North Hollywood.
