Jainee Abrera Scholarship Fund

nspired by the love of Christ, Mother Emilie Gamelin, foundress of the Sisters of Providence, felt called to serve those in need and people living near her were so grateful for her help that they referred to her work as "Providence." Her legacy lives on at Providence High School.

Funds provide financial assistance to current seniors in order to attend the KAIROS retreat.

Sister Alexis Melancon, S.P. Scholarship Fund Established by the Class of ’69 to provide tuition assistance to students who excel in a co-curricular activity and demonstrate the Core Values of PHS.

When you give to PHS, you help support the mission of the Sisters of Providence. Every donation counts, and is truly appreciated by the wonderful students who are benefiting from a collegepreparatory education. There are numerous opportunities to give back to the Providence High School community, and below are descriptions of the various funds/programs that have been established.

Sister Renate Hayum, S.P. Scholarship Fund Established by the Sisters of Providence to provide tuition assistance to a sophomore or junior student who demonstrates the Core Values of PHS and has an interest in pursuing a profession in Information Technology and/or Library Science.

The Family Pledge Program The Family Pledge Program supports every student, teacher, and program on campus. As a result of the Family Pledge Program, more than $100,000 has been raised during the 2015-2016 school year which helped fund various new classes and programs at PHS including Senior Projects, Robotics, Solar Boat, Alumni Career Day, Naviance College Counseling Program, Mandarin and Latin language programs, Instrumental Music, Zoology, Academic Decathlon, and the Golf Team.

The Friends of Our Lady of Lourdes Scholarship

Established in memory of faculty member Joe Ngamsanga’s mother, the funds provide financial assistance to a senior in need. Students are chosen for this scholarship based on: - Displays kindness, generosity, selfless conduct toward helpless elders, hungry individuals, and children in poverty and hunger - Maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.0

Donations to our Providence Fund go toward providing financial assistance to our students.

Established in 2009 by Parishioners of Our Lady of Lourdes who were affiliated with Providence High School. Students are chosen for this scholarship based on the following criteria:

Named Scholarship Funds Below are the named scholarship funds available at Providence High School:

- 7th & 8th grade enrollment at Our Lady of Lourdes, Tujunga - Demonstrate good citizenship as evidenced by service to church or community - Have strong teacher recommendations - Ability to demonstrate attitude of applying themselves to succeed academically

50 Year Club Scholarship Fund Established in 2009 by the Class of ’59 to encourage alumni to make gifts in celebration of their 50th class reunion. Funds provide tuition assistance to students in need.

Class of ’75 Scholarship Fund Established by the Class of ’75 to assist a student who is pursuing journalism, yearbook or concept activities, and who is involved in our school community.

Eleonora Greenhill Scholarship Fund Established by Mrs. Greenhill’s daughters to provide tuition assistance to students in need.
