About our Associate Director of Philanthropy (Major Gifts)
Our step-change in impact with children will be achieved by a step-change in our philanthropy & partnerships: as our new Associate Director, you’ll take a leading part in this transformation through strategic leadership of our major gift fundraising activities. You’ll play a pivotal role in our Major Appeal and crucially will be building the products, processes, systems and practices that will set us up for long-term success

• Salary: £60k - £65k

About our Associate Director of Philanthropy (Major Gifts)
Key Responsibilities include:
• Work closely with the Director of Philanthropy & Partnerships, Chief Executive, Executive Director Social Impact, Senior Leadership Team, Major Appeal Programme Director, Board of Trustees and other senior stakeholders to identify and access new and existing networks of wealth, opportunity and influence
• Build and develop the core foundations of a best-in-class philanthropy programme, providing subject matter expertise and experience, including processes, systems, methodologies, and mindset/behaviours that deliver high value success
• Develop tiered engagement products and special events calendar for different giving capacity levels that will support the Major Appeal and ensure a sustainable long-term philanthropy programme
• Ensure that all major giving activities align to Impact priorities, build TCS brand/profile and prioritise relational approaches; deputising as required for the Director of Philanthropy & Partnerships
• Grow lifetime value of major donors and trusts/foundations through youth-centred engagement, innovation & exceptional experiences –ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation /regulation
Essential experience
• Substantial track record personally securing major (<=6 figure) gifts
• Substantial proven experience building major gift fundraising programmes, particularly managing databases for major account portfolio management, proposal preparation and the effective cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of high net worth individual / major donors
• Demonstrable skills and experience establishing effective processes, systems, frameworks and methodologies to enable high performing philanthropy programmes
• Substantial experience as a senior manager with demonstrable experience leading, managing, motivating and developing high performance teams
• Experience overseeing special philanthropy events and activities as part of major giving programmes
• Excellent communication skills including presentation, negotiation, influencing and writing skills with ability to build relationships across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
• Experience managing significant budgets and operating plans, setting and achieving fundraising targets in multidisciplinary/matrix management environments
• Proven change management skills with ability to maintain team support and engagement whilst implementing new initiatives, products, processes and procedures.
• Extensive experience of working with volunteer fundraisers, senior stakeholders and trustees to solicit donations
• Strong knowledge of legal, regulatory and ethical environment of major gift fundraising
• Knowledge/experience of UK philanthropy market
