Memories that will last forever
When I frst stepped into room 163 as a freshman, I had no idea that my love for writing would snowball into working on the KnightMedia staf for three years, serving as the Editor-in-Chief my senior year. Joining KnightMedia was one of the best decisions I made in high school, and that’s not an overstatement.

AMANDA FEINBERG Editor-in-Chief
The late pasteup nights where we watched our hard work come to fruition, the convention trips to Boston and Philadelphia and the celebration of winning state my senior year are all experiences that I took for granted; a lot of the time I just wanted to be done with pasteups because I knew there would be another late night four weeks from then.
Now, what I would give to have one more late night, to write one more front page and to take one more team trip with my best friends. As Dr. Seuss said, “You never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.”
The culmination of my journalism experience with our team winning state my senior year was one of the best experiences I’ve had at Prospect. I will never forget holding my friends’ hands and crossing our fngers as we waited for the announcement of our place. Now, I can see our 2025 Journalism plaque each time I drive past Prospect, smiling in nostalgia.
I owe so much of my high school experience to the KnightMedia memories, and even more to my mentor, Mr. Block. Block saw my passion for writing and pushed me to apply for an executive board position, securing my spot as a copy editor in my sophomore year. He was always in my corner throughout my time at Prospect, advocating for me within and outside of the classroom. I feel a deep sense of gratitude for Block, and I know KnightMedia wouldn’t be half of the program it is without him.
Although I am leaving journalism behind in college, I am confdent that the skills I’ve learned will continue to serve me well at the University of Virginia. The invaluable leadership, communication and time management skills I’ve learned are essential to fnding future success.
Through this program, I have fostered so many connections with other students and staf that I wouldn’t have made elsewhere. I am so thankful for this program that has become my second family, and I am so excited for what the future holds for KnightMedia.

AMELIA MASLOWSKI
KnightVoices Exec. Producer
I honestly never thought I’d ever be passionate about journalism. I signed up for Intro to Multimedia my freshman year not thinking anything of it and here I am now. Through national conventions in Boston and Philadelphia to winning state my senior year, it’s safe to say journalism was worth it. Being the executive producer of KnightVoices has given me the opportunity to lead a team of passionate storytellers and capture meaningful moments all through high school. I am beyond grateful that I got to document these years through KnightMedia. The endless work of editing broadcasts and recording podcasts has all paid of. I am extra grateful for Mr.Block. He has not only been my teacher but also a mentor in my life. He taught me how to be hardworking and to never give up even when times are hard. Every challenge that I’ve encountered has only led me to success. Knight Media has truly shaped me as a person and shown me the true power of storytelling. I am proud to have given the Prospect community a voice these years. I am very excited to see how Knight Media will continue to fourish.

STATE CHAMPS!: The Illinois High School Association crowns KnightMedia 2025 state champions. Senior Abby Damasky took second in Infographics, and seniors Amelia Maslowski, Kenny Munao and Ben Mitchell took frst in TV News.
When I look back on my four years at Prospect, I fnd myself feeling incredibly grateful for my time in KnightMedia. I think about how my plan didn’t include journalism when I was a freshman, and how Mr. Block has made all the diference in my future and life goals.
I feel so lucky that I have gotten to be a part of an amazing family in so many ways. It’s been a long journey with a lot of setbacks, but even more, a lot of growth. From being afraid to be an executive sports editor to stepping into my role of Online Editor-in- Chief with confdence, I have been able to grow as a writer and a leader and have been allowed to explore all of my passions.
fun I’ve ever had in the program.

CLAIRE WYNKOOP Online Editor-in-Chief
Learning that I loved photography was one of the best things this program has brought me. Having a best friend who took me to her yearbook events and fnally gave me a camera changed my life. I am beyond grateful for the space that was made for me on the sidelines of sporting events, assemblies and in the theater.
Thank you to Block for everything he has contributed to my growth these past four years.
Thank you to Kenny, Matthew and Peter, who have made broadcasting some of the most
It was the dead of winter my freshman year. A million cords snaked across the foor of the Jean Walker feldhouse in a messy tangle. Someone in a headset was yelling at the “pretty boys,” whatever that meant.
I wondered if I should turn around — my sister’s recommendation to try broadcast journalism be damned — and go home.
But before I could leave, Block ushered me to the bleachers where I’d be the statistician. I guess I was in this.
When the broadcast began, I felt a sense of pride when the announcers cited my stats on air. I wasn’t intimated anymore; I knew I wanted to do that again.
Thank you, especially, to Ben Mitchell, for being my sounding board and friend who I can rely on for tough love and laughter. I am so grateful that I’ve been lucky enough to reconnect with old friends through this program. Thank you to all the seniors on staf who have made this program the state champion program that it is. Finally, thank you to Mollie Kearns who I couldn’t have made it to this point without. She has always been the one who’s had my back and encouraged me to keep going when I felt like I couldn’t. Sitting next to you in freshman year IMC, just based on instinct, ranks highly in the best moments of my life. Thank you for choosing me, going on adventures with me and helping me grow into the person I am now. Thank you for being my forever best friend.
This has been the most amazing four years. I couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else with my time at Prospect, and I can’t wait to see what the next journey holds, but I know I will always have a home in 162.

ing me everything you knew. Claire, for always keeping me (mostly) sane during broadcasts. You were the glue that held KTV Live together. Thank you Kenny and Amelia, my IHSA teammates, I couldn’t have survived the state run without you (or that Dunkin’ Run). Kudos to Kenny for fguring out exporting.

BEN MITCHELL
KTV Live Exec. Producer
And I did — broadcasting again and again. Two years later, I became Executive Producer of KnightTV Live — a fancy title that really only means I press buttons and access passwords. KnightMedia elevated journalism from a hobby to connect me to sports I’m too awful at to play to a passion for telling stories.
But I couldn’t do it alone. To Luis and Ben, my KTV Live forefathers: thank you for teach-

KENNETH MUNAO
KTV Exec. Producer
While most kids grew up dreaming of becoming astronauts or race car drivers, my sights were always set a little diferently. Where others imagined rocket ships and racetracks, I imagined broadcast booths and stadium lights. I didn’t idolize superheroes — I admired the voices behind the moments: Joe Buck, Al Michaels — narrators of history in real time. I’d sit in front of the TV, not just watching the game, but calling it in my head, imagining the roar of the crowd as if it were real. I’d rehearse what I’d say when it fnally was real.
That dream never faded. It followed me into high school, where KnightMedia gave me the chance to step behind the mic and bring it to life. What began as imagination turned into opportunity — and that opportunity became over 80 games called for the Knights. From high-stakes playof clashes to unforgettable rivalries, every game brought its own energy. Being in the press box never felt like I was watching from afar. If anything, it felt like I was right there on the feld — riding the highs of last-second touchdowns and feeling the weight of tough losses alongside the team. That connection, that adrenaline, and that responsibility to get it right — it made every broadcast more than just commentary. It made it personal.
But KnightMedia gave me more than just a headset—it gave me a home. Leading KnightTV has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. It taught me lessons in leadership, storytelling, and perseverance, and gave me memories I’ll carry forever. From late nights spent editing episodes to working with classmates to shape their stories, every moment was a chance to grow, create, and connect. It wasn’t just about producing content; it was about building something bigger than myself.
None of this would have been possible without Mr. Block. He’s been more than a teacher — he’s been a mentor, a guide, and a constant source of encouragement. I wouldn’t be where I am today without him, and I’ll always be grateful for the impact he’s had on my journey.

To Block, for making time for countless live broadcasts. I swear you spent more time with Kenny and I during the basketball season than you did with your own children, but I wouldn’t be majoring in journalism without your support.
And to Ella, not only are you the best journalist I know, but the best sister. You convinced me to try KnightMedia, and I can’t thank you enough for helping me fnd this community of incredible people that I’m proud to call my friends.
Ryan and the team next year: Carry the KTV Live legacy with pride. I can’t wait to see what you all do.
