In my early teens my family emigrated from Samoa to New Zealand in the early 80’s. I’m married to Anya and between us we have six wonderful children and four grandchildren.
We made the move to relocate to Taranaki at the end of 2018, and with Covid-19 in a little over a year later, it proved to be a timely move.
In the past 20 years I’ve been in the commercial sector in various industries locally, as well as internationally. Much of that time, I’ve served on several not-for-profit organisations as well.
Covid-19 for me was a recalibration time and I felt perhaps it was time to go into full-time ministry, but for the Lord to show me what that may look like. Promise Keepers positively impacted me hugely in the early years of my walk with the Lord, but to come back to serve in the ministry is both a privilege and an honour. I look forward to continuing the great work Paul and the team have done and seeing what the Lord holds for our ministry in the new season.

Frank Po Ching Promise Keepers’ new National DirectorMen’s Groups are right at the foundation of Men’s Ministry. They meet regularly and are open for any man to attend make ministry highly accessible.
These groups can be a powerful influence for years. They develop a core of committed men who are key to the ongoing success of the group. Other men attend for a season in their life or when they need help, especially at a time of crisis.
Promise Keepers has a wide range of resources available for individuals and churches.

Promise Keepers runs online events for groups via zoom and can travel around the country to assist with men’s breakfasts . Check out what is coming up in your area or enquire about how we can assist with one you are planning.
In 2024 there will be regional larger events.
When a storm hits – feeling strong is not usually our first emotion. Feeling small… feeling scared – that’s the response of most of us men and mortals.
Over the years, people have asked me how I stayed strong through the storms that have entered our life – storms like having handicapped children, or almost going bankrupt when a major creative ministry project collapsed and we ended up homeless with 5 young children.
The thing is – I’m not sure I have ever felt strong in the middle of a storm. I have felt small and afraid. But… I have also felt held by the strong arms of my Father. I’ve known peace. And along with many others, I have cried out to the Lord to be rescued in my troubles.
None of us would choose to go through a storm in advance. When my wife and I walked out the back of the church on our wedding day – we didn’t stop at a sign-up table; ‘PICK YOUR STORMS’.
“OK darling – how about we order one financial collapse and several chellenging children?” We don’t choose our storms –they just happen in our fallen world.
They are outside of our control… unless it’s the storm of our own moral failure! The only thing in our control is how we respond in them and what we learn about our foundations after the storm has cleared.
Psalm 107:28
Dig Deeper: Psalm 107:28-29, Isaiah 25:1-9, Mark 4:35-41
Application: Think back to your own storms, where did you see the hand of God move?
“
Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress.”
Ants is an inspiring man of faith. In this interview he shares with us a message of hope, encouraging us to move forward in faith towards the future that God has for us. Ants works in the prisons, where he leads a team of people. He’s an elder at his local church and leads a men’s group. He and his wife have three daughters. The words we speak over people have power. Many of us have had negative
Ants tells of a teacher who told him that he was useless. But Ants had a foundation of love, so he pushed past those negative words and got his trade as a woodwork joiner.
Today he often uses those carpentry skills to help others. Ants' message is a stirring reminder of how powerful it is when we serve God and

I share PK’s vision for 2023 and beyond – PK to work alongside men’s ministries and leaders including churches to help men to be strong leaders in their families, churches and communities, and ultimately point them to God.
Taking inspirations from Nehemiah in capturing God’s heart for his people especially the mission he set out to do. He was strategic in his approach, and skilful leader in mobilising and encouraging the people to take ownership of the rebuild near their homes. The parallel is true for PK’s vision going forward, which is why the Rebuild phase PK has embarked on when Paul Monahan was here, and now I’m continuing is vital to get back to grassroots level, to co-labour with our local leaders and churches to help rebuild the brokenness, the hungry, the lost, etc.
I shared that PK is to be seen as part of the church, working together to help men to be true leaders of the faith, as fathers, husbands and servants of Christ.
I was encouraged by the number of men –young and old who appreciated my coming down to spend the time with them. One guy thanked me especially for sharing about being an introvert, that introverts can lead from the front, and they can have a voice. I said Amen to that. However, introvert or extravert, its really capturing God’s heart for what He wants each one of us to go out and do with confidence and boldness that comes from being filled by the Holy Spirit.
“Thank you John, Brian and his wonderful kitchen team, and Kerry for opening your doors to me, and everyone I had the opportunity to meet.
God’s richest blessings.”
