The master plan is a result of the city analysis and urban strategy, which was formulated in my diploma research thesis (The city of Kalamata: a theoretical urban analysis prior to design). The aim of the diploma research thesis and diploma design thesis was the theoretical analysis, proposal and design of the city of Kalamata, and especially of the coastal front, from the largest scale to the smaller. Therefore the research examines the city up to the scale of 1:5000 and proposes the guidelines in order to design the master plan. The design thesis focuses on the master plan of the seaside zone in the scale of 1:2000, with gradual focusing in 1:1000 and 1:500, on the master plan of the river, of the port, on a part of the residential area and finally on the design of the Oceanographic Research Institute on a seaside plot.
