Washing Instructions

1. Remove Stains

If there are a few persistent stains, it’s best to remove these before placing the football kit in the wash. First, add cold water to the stained area and apply a pre-wash stain removal product. Using a toothbrush, rub the agent into the stain before squeezing out and preparing for washing.

2. Turn Inside Out

It’s important to turn the kit pieces inside out before putting these in the wash. This will protect the prints, colour, stitching and other features, particularly on the jersey, from becoming damaged or faded.

3. Seperate Colours

If you’re planning on washing your entire football kit, all items should be separated by lights and darks to prevent colours from bleeding. This is particularly important if your jersey is black or white, for example, as these colours should be washed separately from other kit items. It’s also important that you don’t wash any of your football kit with other garments, as the fibres could damage the kits delicate materials.

4. Don’t Use Liquid Detergent

If used, a liquid detergent can ruin the fabric of the jersey. Instead, choose a colour protectant powder that doesn’t contain bleach.

5. Use A Cold or Warm Setting

When you’ve placed the football kit in the washing machine, a colder setting is often advised. However, the detergent will be more successful at removing stains in warm water. Therefore, ideally, the washing machine should be set at 30° or under. It’s worth checking the label to see the exact washing requirements of each item. However, any setting higher than 30° is likely to be too hot, causing the jersey to shrink, the colours and print to fade, as well as other significant heat damage.

6. Set A Shorter Wash Cycle

Finally, due to the materials being delicate, it’s important the duration of the wash cycle isn’t too long. 12 to 20 minutes would be the ideal time.
