This will be the scene presented as 12 of the Sunshine Coast’s up-and-coming designers showcase their collections in a unique fashion event this month. Catwalk models will strut their stuff, a la Fashion Week, as the who’s who of the local fashion industry attend the illustrious Heart & Soul fashion event / high tea. The force behind Heart & Soul is a combination of the talents of two (very fashionable) Sunshine Coast women set on making their mark and raising the profile of our fashion talent. Established designer and catering queen Sally Cook, from Saucy Rose Swimwear and Sally Can Cook Catering, has teamed up with Asha Model Management’s vibrant owner, Angie Tonner, to form a fashion industry powerhouse partnership.
“It is very much about fashion on the Sunshine Coast and how incredible some of our local designers are,” The result – a fashionista’s dream as Heart & Soul fashion event invites retail buyers, agents, VIP’s and media to the Sunshine Coast to mingle and meet the designers behind the fresh new labels, and view their collections. The successful women behind Heart & Soul were motivated to create an event all about the designers, with Angie and Sally aiming to host an incredible opportunity for their hand-picked designers to meet buyers in an intimate setting, rubbing shoulders with VIP’s. Coast but retail stockists in North Queensland, Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Heart & Soul will kick off careers and give designers a head-start in their industry, the opportunity to build recognition of their label and network with the decision makers of the fashion industry. “It is very much about fashion on the Sunshine Coast and how incredible some of our local designers are,” Sally says about the opportunities they are creating. “We have 10 fantastic designers onboard, as well as two extremely talented TAFE students, to showcase their collections.” The models from Asha Model Management will strut their stuff as they are adorned with each designer’s painstakingly-made creations and parade in front of eagerly awaiting guests, creating an opportunity for not only up-and-coming designers but next top models to experience a chance in the spotlight. It will be a decadent afternoon of fashion, style, opportunity and indulgence as the guests eagerly await the presentation of each designer’s 2013 Spring / Summer collections in an intimate setting. The event is carefully orchestrated to tantalise the viewers with a catwalk parade, before allowing guests to get down to business, with buyers and agents viewing the samples and wholesale prices in the Collection Showroom Marquee. This Sunday soiree is set to be one of the Sunshine Coast’s most talked about events, meticulously planned and with the potential to launch big careers in the fashion industry. To be hosted by chic hair salon Universal Hair Studio, Heart & Soul will be held in The Church room – 22 Beach Road, Maroochydore, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
