3. Worth Your Salt. You're going to find out exactly how to use them, and of course, their definition.
1. Pie in the Sky
So our first idiom today - Pie in the Sky.
And remember, the idioms are informal English, so you'd want to be able to use them on the Speaking Section of the IELTS or TOEFL exam.
Adjective - dreamy, unrealistic.

And finally, our third idiom that we're looking at today.
3. Worth Your Salt
Adjective - worthwhile or worthy.
Example:
Donating to the animal rescue shelter is worth your salt. You help feed cats and dogs.
Now as a side note here.
Salt was used in ancient times and was very valuable. Now today we may put it in a shaker and put it on burgers and fries or another meal item that you have at the table.
But in ancient times people used to be paid with salt.
And if you're familiar with the English word salary, that is where it originates from.
I know because I speak Spanish and sal in Spanish en español is salt and so worth your salt and salary.
All of these are linked back to ancient times when salt was actually a form of payment.
So when you're increasing your vocabulary, if you know some of the background, it might help you to remember how to use these texts.
Now as I said, for these three idioms, they're informal English, so you'd be able to use them on the IELTS or TOEFL Speaking exam.
