Clay ELLIOTT

Clay Elliott is a NFR rookie and will be a name rodeo fans will be hearing for years to come. He has one of the best mark outs going and starting horses right at the NFR is one of the most important elements to the ride. There won’t be a horse in the draw that he can’t ride but the question will be how he handles the big stage.

Hometown: Nanton, Alberta - Key Win: Canby, OR WNFR Qualifications: 1

Allen BOORE Allen Boore is another first time qualifier in the saddle bronc riding. He’s a little guy and sets his feet really hard in the neck which helps horses want to buck harder. He can take a horse that some guys have a hard time placing on and can turn in a high marked ride on that same horse.

Hometown: Axtell, Utah - Key Win: Oakley City, UT WNFR Qualifications: 1

Jesse WRIGHT

Jesse Wright is a bargain this far down the list. Fantasy owners will be hoping he turns in a performance like he did in 2012 when he won 3 rounds, placed in 4 more, and won the average. He might have too many family members competing against him to pull off that feat, but nonetheless he’ll be a solid pick in the #10 spot in the world standings.

Hometown: Milford, UT - Key Win: Pendleton, OR WNFR Qualifications: 6

Cody WRIGHT

Cody Wright is making his 1st appearance back to the Wrangler NFR after qualifying for 12 straight (2003-2014). He’s probably been on most of the horses in the draw so nothing should come as a surprise to him once the horses are loaded. He’s a proven winner and a past champion of the NFR so there aren’t any drawbacks to having Cody on your fantasy roster.

Hometown: Milford, UT - Key Win: San Juan Capistrano, CA WNFR Qualifications: 13

Sterling CRAWLEY

Sterling Crawley is long legged guy that goes at every horse with 110% effort. Some of his rides are a little on the wild side which makes for some good watching. Nobody will have more fun in Las Vegas than Sterling, but don’t think for one second that he’s not all business when the broncs are loaded. He struggled in his first qualification 3 years ago but will be much more prepared this time around.

Hometown: Stephenville, Texas - Key Win: Spanish Fork, UT WNFR Qualifications: 3

Chuck SCHMIDT

Chuck Schmidt will want to improve on last year’s NFR where he placed in 2 go rounds and 8th in the average. He rides every horse really solid and correct and he’s a guy that many bronc riders want to emulate when it comes to riding style. Whether or not that will translate in to fantasy dollars for your team is yet to be determined but Schmidt definitely has the talent to get the job done.

Hometown: Keldron, SD - Key Win: Sisters, OR WNFR Qualifications: 3

Ryder WRIGHT

Ryder Wright has the 2016 Resistol Rookie of the Year Award in the bag before he ever gets to Las Vegas. Now he’ll be wanting to prove to his dad, brother, and uncles that he can ride with them on the biggest of stages. He did it all season so there’s no reason that trend can’t continue. He’s going to be as solid as they come and the price is right at $20,000.

Hometown: Milford, UT - Key Win: Guymon, OK WNFR Qualifications: 1

Jake WATSON Jake Watson beat all of these guys in the lineup back at San Antonio with many of these same horses in the draw. That obviously doesn’t mean he’s guaranteed to do it again but it should give him a little confidence heading to his 1st NFR.

Hometown: Hudson’s Hope, B.C. - Key Win: San Antonio, TX WNFR Qualifications: 1
